<p>Leominster Public Schools</p> <p>Leominster Center for Excellence</p> <p>LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE (through the end of the school year)</p> <p>Position: 9-12 Teacher/Advisor</p> <p>Qualifications: Current MA Teaching License, Math or Science preferred</p> <p>Leominster Center for Excellence (LCE) is seeking a passionate, creative, and insightful educator. LCE is a small innovative high school and a member of the Big Picture Learning network. Teachers at LCE lead an advisory of no more than 15 students as they engage in educational experiences that are rooted in real-world learning. Responsibilities of the advisor include:</p> <ul> <li>Planning and implementing an individualized program of instruction that capitalizes on students' interests and real-world learning. </li><li>Assessing and documenting each student's progress through various formative and summative assessments, marking period narratives, phone calls and meetings with parents, and weekly student meetings. </li><li>Guiding students as they seek and explore internship opportunities. </li><li>Assisting students in the development of interdisciplinary projects that demonstrate grade-level knowledge and skills, and incorporate real-world learning experiences. </li><li>Collaborating with other educators to support and challenge all students. </li><li>Contributing to the creation and maintenance of a positive school culture and community. </li><li>Planning and teaching relevant content and skills to prepare students for higher education with a focus on Mathematics. </li><li>Ensuring that all students graduate with a viable five-year plan for success. </li></ul> <p>We seek educators who value "rigor, relevance, and relationships" in their professional practice, and who can engage families and community members as partners in the education of LCE students.</p> <p>Please submit proof of licensure, transcripts and letters of reference.</p>
