<p>Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions</p> <ul> <li>Follows appropriate safety procedures (e.g., DOT, OSHA, EPA, etc.) when transporting waste materials and general freight. </li><li>Checks vehicle before driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order. </li><li>Maintains logs of working hours in accordance with U.S. DOT hours of service regulation </li><li>Performs vehicle inspection in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. </li><li>Establishes and maintains customer focused working relationship with all company customers (internal and external). </li><li>Checks all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. </li><li>Reads shipping paperwork (i.e., bills of lading and manifests) to determine assignment details. </li><li>Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to vehicles in accordance with company policy. </li><li>Maintains truck interior and safety of equipment and personal protective equipment. </li><li>Maintains a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no at-fault accidents for the past three years and no major convictions. </li><li>Assists with the safe, compliant and profitable development of our Field Service business line. </li><li>Conducts projects according to site specific Federal, State and local regulations as well as RIS Site Safety policies. </li><li>Adheres to Field Service Standard Operating Procedures. </li><li>Works with field service crews on projects that involve vacuuming sumps, cleaning tanks, picking up containerized waste, etc. </li><li>Position requires physical strength to lift, push or move heavy objects such as vacuum hoses, load containers onto truck using drum dolly or pallet jack, or perform other field service tasks. </li><li>Works in areas with potentially elevated noise levels due to equipment being used. </li><li>Works indoors and outdoors. </li><li>Wears personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed and in accordance with safety policies and procedures. </li><li>Attends 40hr OSHA, DOT, Confined Space Entry, Lock-out/Tag-out, and/or job specific training is required. </li><li>Understands both RIS' ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety and ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and assists with executing their objectives. </li><li>Performs other job-related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Two years of current over-the-road tanker experience, including hauling liquid tankers, is required. </li><li>A valid driver Class B CDL endorsement is required along with the ability to have or acquire Hazmat endorsement. </li><li>Ability to operate other light equipment (tow motor, manlift, pumps, pressure washer, etc.) is a plus. </li><li>Must have a compliant history with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). </li><li>Must qualify for a DOT physical card. </li><li>Must be compliant with DOT substance abuse testing. </li><li>Must be able to work 14 hour shifts on a regular basis. </li><li>Must have the ability for some overnight travel. </li><li>2 years experience in environmental remediation or hazardous waste disposal preferred. </li><li>Must be fluent in English with the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and handling instructions, and procedure manuals. </li><li>Must be able to write efficiently and effectively in order to maintain sufficient documentation of work-related activities. </li><li>Must be able to work in a team environment and effectively communicate and present information and respond to questions. </li></ul>
