Duties include operator job assignments and process troubleshooting. Acts as primary management representative during off shifts and weekends, including responsibility for the overall safety of the employees on site and all buildings and equipment, and as initial Incident Command during emergency response (OSIC).</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILTIES:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure manufacturing operations are efficiently carried out in compliance with all government regulations and company policies and procedures. </li><li>Ensures that the personal and departmental moral, ethical, legal, and behavioral conduct is in compliance with the Siegfried Code of Conduct </li><li>Implements and adheres to all applicable SHE and cGMP regulations </li><li>Follow and adhere to Leader Standardized Work for Shift Supervisors </li><li>Coordinate and oversee the assignment, training, development, and motivation of employees to ensure attainment of short and long-term goals. </li><li>Lead and support problem solving and/or trouble-shooting activities as needed to ensure continuing operations. </li><li>Coordinates time off requests of operators to provide coverage. This includes posting of OT sheets and coordinating vacation and personal time off requests. </li><li>Assists area management in reviewing production schedules, metrics, and investigates variances as appropriate. </li><li>Assist area management in supporting the Siegfried Quality System, including management of manufacturing deviations, and changes to equipment, processes and documents. </li><li>Coordinates with maintenance to ensure safe and effective execution of maintenance activities in assigned are(s) (i.e., safe work / hot work permits, lockout/tagout, and confined space entry) </li><li>Serves as Incident Commander during emergency response. </li><li>Other responsibilities as assigned. </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION:</p> <p>Directly supervises assigned Chemical Operators, including Lead Operators on their particular shift. Also, supervises the Utilities, Physical Operators, Shift Mechanic and Waste Treatment Operators during the off-shifts and weekends. Is responsible for the overall management of staffing, training, attendance, and performance of the Chemical Operators on the particular shift for which a Shift Supervisor is responsible.</p> <p>Your profile</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>A four (4) year degree in life or physical sciences, engineering, or equivalent technical field, or equivalent related experience within pharmaceutical or a fine chemical manufacturing. </li><li>3- 5 years hands-on experience with chemical process unit operations (distillation, crystallization, centrifugation, and thermal oxidizers), preferably in a pharmaceutical or a fine chemical facility. </li><li>Two (2) years of experience as a shift supervisor Siegfried USA, LLC and completion of the Siegfried Academy or equivalently recognized development program (e.g., Crestcom, Siegfried Supervisor Development Program) or equivalent external experience. </li><li>Working knowledge of computer systems, such as Delta V, SAP, WinLIMS, and Microsoft Office preferred. </li><li>Prior supervisory experience, especially in a union environment, preferred. </li><li>Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations for active pharmaceutical ingredients is strongly preferred </li><li>Knowledge of Process Improvement methodology (ie., Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma) a plus </li></ul> <p>OTHER REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li>Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills </li><li>Ability to build, motivate and develop high performing teams through excellent supervisory and coaching skills. </li><li>Trained as an On-Scene Incident Commander for emergency response, or have the ability to obtain certification. </li><li>Strong technical trouble-shooting skills </li><li>Ability to work in a team environment </li><li>Demonstrated ability to maintain positive relations in a union environment </li><li>Must be able to work different shift models, including 12-hour rotating shifts, and work overtime as needed to fill in for other shift supervisors. </li><li>Must be able to pass a respirator fit test and maintain clean-shaven for proper respirator fit. </li></ul> <p>Siegfried USA will explore and provide reasonable accommodations to assist any qualified individual with a disability in performing the essential functions of his/her job.
