<p>Reports To: Director of Operations</p> <p>FLSA Status: Non-Exempt</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned,</p> <ul> <li>Maintains a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, visitors, and families by patrolling and monitoring premises and personnel </li><li>Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry </li><li>Obtains help by sounding alarms </li><li>Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; and preventing trespassers </li><li>Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses </li><li>Maintain environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls </li><li>Maintains organizations stability and reputation by complying with company policies and procedures, state licensure requirements, and JCAHO standards </li><li>Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturers instructions; trouble shooting malfunctions; and informing the maintenance director and director of operations of any problems </li><li>Act lawfully at all times in direct defense of life or property </li><li>Act as a consistent presence to deter criminals </li><li>Report any suspicious/unusual occurrences to authorities and management </li><li>Patrol premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter </li><li>Monitor alarm systems and video cameras </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>High school degree or equivalent</p> <p>Work experience as a security officer or other relevant position</p> <p>Basic computer skills necessary for reporting and communications</p> <p>Willingness to comply with all laws and institutional regulations at all times</p> <p>Current TB test</p> <p>Valid drivers license</p> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <p>Individuals may be required to:</p> <p>Sit or stand for extended periods of time</p> <p>Reach above shoulder heights, below waist or lift as required to complete the job responsibilities</p> <p>Proper lifting techniques, ability to read computer screens and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are required</p> <p>Must be able to lift 50 to 75lbs. Raising objects from lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This requirement occurs to a considerable degree and requires the substantial use of the upper extremities and back muscles</p> <p>Must be able to balance, limb, crouch, grasp, kneel, pull, push, reach, stand and stoop adequately to perform the essential functions of the job.</p> <p>Must be able to reach and write the English language</p> <p>Must be able to work inside and outside with exposure to outdoor weather conditions</p>
