<p>ESSENTIAL TASK:</p> <p>Investigates citizen complaints related to unlawful littering and dumping; participates in surveillance operations to monitor illegal dumping as necessary.</p> <p>Locates, identifies and prosecutes individuals who violate County laws and regulations pertaining to illegal littering and dumping, and health and sanitary conditions; assists other law enforcement agencies with investigations as necessary.</p> <p>Issues citations to violators and serves notices and summonses for non-compliance; provides court testimony as necessary.</p> <p>Assists in regulating the transportation of refuse throughout the County to ensure compliance with applicable laws.</p> <p>Inspects and monitors for compliance with applicable regulations. Maintains assigned supplies, tools, equipment and vehicles.</p> <p>Participates in efforts to increase public awareness, understanding and support of section and division operations; educates the public regarding County and state litter and refuse regulations.</p> <p>Prepares a variety of records and reports required by the division, department, County and/or other agencies.</p> <p>Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns, complaints and requests for assistance regarding areas of responsibility.</p> <p>Performs general clerical work as required, including but not limited to preparing reports and correspondence, copying and filing documents, entering and retrieving computer data, answering the telephone, etc.</p> <p>Attends training, meetings, conferences, seminars, etc., as necessary to maintain job knowledge and skills; maintains required physical fitness and required level of proficiency in the use of firearms.</p> <p>Assists in drop off site operation.</p> <p>VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL PREPARATION:</p> <p>Requires Associate's degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education with emphasis in law enforcement, code enforcement or a closely related field.</p> <p>SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:</p> <p>Must possess a valid state driver's license.</p> <p>EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Requires over one year and up to and including two years.</p>
