<p>Position Summary</p> <p>The Collections Manager is responsible for the implementation and adherence to all activities, policies, and procedures for collection of all Business Services patient accounts - including, but not limited to, government, commercial, managed care, and patient responsibility accounts. This position manages Insurance Payment Processors, Insurance Collection Specialist, Revenue Management Specialist, and others as assigned. This position is responsible for the effective relationship and performance accountability of external collection vendors (extended business office, legal & liability attorneys, and Workers Compensation). This position reports directly to the Director of Hospital Billing and maintains close and effective working relationships with the Billing and Denials Manager and other Business Services staff and supervisors to ensure collaboration and efficient billing and collections operations. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and measuring of strategic departmental goals in relation to expected collection performance measures, monitoring contracts/variances, and all other duties as assigned.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>5 years in a hospital-based account billing/collections, supervision or management </li></ul> <p>License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>N/A </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements</p> <p>Preferred Education</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's or Master Degree </li></ul> <p>Preferred Experience</p> <ul> <li>Beyond five years of hospital-based account billing, supervision and management </li></ul> <p>Preferred License/Registration/Certifications</p> <ul> <li>CRCA </li></ul> <p>Core Job Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Responsible for the cashiering functions of Business Services and ensures the efficient & accurate posting of all payments to accounts through electronic remittances, manual posting, and denials correspondences. </li><li>Reports directly to the Director of Hospital Billing and maintains close and effective working relationships with the Billing and Denials Managers and other Business Services staff and supervisors to ensure collaboration and efficient billing and collections operations. </li><li>Responsible for the development, implementation and measuring of strategic departmental goals in relation to expected billing performance </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul>
