<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Essential Functions of the Position:</p> <p>Assist Head Coach in managing all phases of a NCAA, Division III women's soccer program with specific responsibilities outlined below:</p> <ul> <li>Understand, support and embody team's overarching philosophy as developed by Head Coach. </li><li>Teach proper soccer techniques in position groups assigned by the head coach and assess skill development. </li><li>Assist planning practice and game planning </li><li>Recruit future student athletes who understand and are prepared for the demands presented by small, private-college, non-scholarship athletic programs. Includes: knowledge and use of Frontrush, travel, nightly calls, conducting campus visits. </li><li>Instruct concepts of overall physical health and safety for both individuals and the team. </li><li>Educate students on NCAA Division III rules and Marietta College Athletics Department Learning Outcomes </li><li>Scout opponents by analyzing video and/or traveling to games </li><li>Monitor Heart Rate systems </li><li>Monitor academic progress of team members </li><li>Keep detailed inventory records </li><li>Teach a 1-credit skill class in each semester </li><li>Perform athletic department duties as assigned by the athletic director. Such duties may include: game day management for other sports, facility supervision, intramural supervision, sports information assistance or other. </li></ul> <p>Professional Expectations:</p> <ul> <li>Uphold the high professional standard of conduct expected of each person on campus and outlined in our Employee Handbook. </li><li>Build positive interpersonal relationships in and out of the athletic department by attending College functions, both social and professional; staff meetings; faculty meetings; serving on committees; etc. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Required Experience & Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required </li><li>Previous college playing and coaching experience preferred </li></ul> <p>Required Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Exceptional understanding of soccer with strong knowledge of the technical aspects of every position </li><li>Interpersonal communication skills necessary to successfully teach and motivate student athletes and work effectively with various constituents on and off campus. </li><li>Knowledge of NCAA, OAC and Marietta College rules and guidelines </li><li>Knowledge of recruiting software, scouting software and Microsoft Office products. </li><li>Strength and Conditioning Certification encouraged </li><li>Must possess a strong commitment to diversity and inclusiveness </li><li>Current valid driver's license and successful completion of a background check. </li><li>Flexibility to work nights and weekends </li><li>Must be able to travel, and possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable by Marietta's insurance carrier </li></ul> <p>Application Instructions:</p> <p>Interested applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and contact information for three professional references.
