<p>Req Id: 34013</p> <p>Job Title: Veterinary Technician (Ophthalmology)</p> <p>City: West Lafayette</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <ul> <li>Updated February 25, 2025* </li></ul> <p>The Purdue University Veterinary Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic credentialed veterinary technician to work with our Ophthalmology team. We get to work with various species, both small and large animals, helping with medical management and surgical procedures. What better gift can you give to an animal than to help retain or restore vision? During their work during new consults and recheck appointments, veterinary technicians participate in teaching vet students, veterinary nursing students, interns, and residents. The team will also participate in microsurgery including cataract surgery in dogs and horses, laser procedures both intra and extraocular, preparing patients and their owners for surgery, monitoring anesthesia, and decontaminating and sterile processing microsurgical instruments.
