We are looking for an Army Staff Accountant to join our team to support the USAFMCOM; Army Accounting and Audit Operations (A3O).</p> <p>The Army Staff Accountant will provide recommendations and services to improve the accuracy, reliability, timeliness, and internal control environment of the Army General Fund (AGF) to enable successful attestation and audit, specifically in areas related to Secure Financials. The Staff Accountant will provide knowledge and guidance in accounting and audit support as well as knowledge and understanding of Army and DOD financial management systems.</p> <p>Your day-to-day work will include:</p> <ul> <li>Developing and/or executing reconciliations and conducting variance analysis of accounting, entitlement, or other data. </li><li>Working with Data System Analysts to resolve data discrepancies and anomalies. </li><li>Developing and implementing internal controls to support accurate financial statement reporting. </li><li>Remediating deficiencies identified in Army internal and external audits related to Secure Financials. </li><li>Recommending new business processes or controls needed to achieve financial statement assertions. </li><li>Monitoring financial reporting controls and validating corrective actions. </li><li>Researching and corroborating buyer-side and seller-side intragovernmental transaction (IGT) details for relevant legacy and non-legacy accounting system general ledger balances. </li><li>Providing detailed analysis and guidance for operational accounting issues and developing monitoring mechanisms to gauge progress. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>At a minimum you should have:</p> <ul> <li>An active SECRET security clearance and the ability to maintain the clearance. </li><li>Ability to pass a T5 investigation and maintain good standing in Continuous Evaluation. </li><li>At least 2-5 years of experience in accounting and auditing. </li><li>A Bachelors degree in Accounting or a related field. </li><li>Experience researching and resolving discrepancies between systems and data sets. </li><li>Experience providing accounting and audit support within the DoD/Army, experience working with and reporting to DoD government leadership, and familiarity with DoD financial management systems such as STANFINS, GFEBS, and ADVANA. </li></ul> <p>You will be highly desirable if you have:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Knowledge, understanding of, and experience with GAAP, GAGAS, FAM, FASAB, TFM, and DoD/Army FM policies.</p> </li><li> <p>All employees may be called upon to provide their knowledge and/or expertise to proposal efforts including contract re-competes.</p> </li></ul> <p>This job description is subject to change at any time.</p> <p>Work Type: On-Site (Indianapolis, IN)</p> <p>Estimated Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000</p> <p>The provided salary range serves as a broad reference.
