<p>POSITION SUMMARY</p> <p>Build, modify and repair precision tools and parts using machining equipment and measuring instruments.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Work from blueprints, sketches, models or CAD and CAM files to make, create or modify prototypes, tools, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and parts for plant machinery</p> <p>Calculate and verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces, determine assembly method and sequence of operations required to set up the machine tools</p> <p>Setup and Operate lathes, grinders, mills, and heat treat equipment to produce tools</p> <p>Select material to use based on properties, File, grind, and adjust parts so that they fit them together</p> <p>Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances and finish of surfaces for tools and fixtures using precision gauge equipment</p> <p>Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)</p> <p>Perform all other duties, as assigned</p> <p>JOB REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Ability to work independently with a high degree of skill and judgement to perform required operations</p> <p>Strong mathematic skills, Print, GD&T and high level competency in the use of precision gauge equipment</p> <p>Ability to effectively communicate with Engineers</p> <p>Must be able to stand, walk (on concrete surfaces), bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and lift to perform repetitive movements</p> <p>Must be able to lift/push/pull objects up to 35 pounds, heavier objects require assistance</p> <p>Ability to adhere to all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures</p> <p>Must have working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing (basic oral instructions, simple written memos and instructions)</p> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED Required</p> <p>Associate degree from Technical school a plus</p> <p>5 or more years Machining Experience required</p> <p>RBC Bearings is an Equal Opportunity Employer.</p>
