If a position is listed with both office locations and virtual offerings, Comcast may be willing to consider candidates who live greater than 100 miles from the office for the remote option.)</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>This position will be primarily responsible for the installation and maintenance of a variety of network components and their associated equipment, software and applications within the labs. He or she will be required to install, configure, and support multiple network devices in a variety of configurations.</p> <p>This position is ineligible for visa sponsorship. To be considered for this role, you must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future.</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>Core Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Complete updates to LAB Visio network architecture diagrams, including OTN ASN. </li><li>Finish technical documentation outlining all needed duties and processes when adding a new network device to the DT infrastructure. Radius, AAA, DNS, Visio, etc… </li><li>Review and provide input to new technical requirements </li><li>Ability to participate in defining overall approach and structure of lab designs </li><li>Install, configure, and maintain test environment equipment. </li><li>Configure and rework Radius, AAA, DSN, VTY Access list, etc. on all network equipment. </li><li>Proactive identification and resolution of complex technical and operational issues </li><li>Perform bug verification, development and testing on reported issues as needed </li><li>Ability to engage with vendors to resolve equipment issues and identify future needs </li><li>Provide a Bill of Material for equipment required to meet future requirements </li><li>Provide reports on a weekly basis of all system design and maintenance activity </li><li>Coordinate activities between departments to ensure uninterrupted business operation </li><li>Travel between labs may be required. Labs are currently located in PA and NJ. The employee would be based in Downingtown, PA where 90% of employee's work will take place </li></ul> <p>Technical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Strong working knowledge of Outlook, MS Office programs etc. </li><li>Knowledge of performance monitoring and configuration management tools </li><li>Knowledge of IP address management tools such as IP-Control or IP-Plan </li><li>Proficient (must have)in Cisco Switch/Router IOSs, including the physical equipment </li><li>Fluent in Juniper and Arista IOS </li><li>Install, configure, and maintain Cisco, Juniper, and Foundry IP network switches and routers </li><li>Strong knowledge of IP networks and IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6) (sub-netting, broadcast, multi-cast) </li><li>Experience working with Ethernet packet analyzers/sniffers such as Wireshark </li><li>Knowledge of packet loss, crosstalk, BER, ISO model </li><li>Experience with bandwidth analysis, trace routing, TCP/IP Protocol stack etc. </li><li>Understanding of WANs, LANs, VLANs, VPNs and firewalls </li><li>Experience with BGP/OSPF/SPT routing protocols and route policies/Class maps/ACL's and prefix list </li><li>Knowledge of multicast IGMPv2/IGMPv3/PIM and DSCP / traffic shaping and policing </li><li>Knowledge of optical equipment and characteristics such as CWDM, DWDM, single mode, multi-mode, SFPs GBICs etc. </li><li>Proficient working with Load Balancers </li><li>Administering IP and/or server networks (DNS, TFTP, TOD, DHCP, NAT) </li><li>Configure multicast video and data transport devices </li><li>Working experience with Cable modems, eMTAs, and STBs </li><li>Must be very detailed oriented and have a passion for accuracy and completeness </li><li>Must have good communication skills, working in teams and as an individual contributor </li><li>Ability to clearly and concisely describe problems in both written and oral forms and communicate both orally and in writing in a clear, professional and pleasant manner. </li><li>Must be willing to accept additional assignments, and take the lead, and assist other team members as necessary </li><li>Ability to work autonomously without close supervision or assistance </li><li>Self-motivated with desire for continuous learning </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent job related experience/knowledge as determined by management </li><li>Experience with cable TV or telecommunications industry is desired </li><li>5+ years experience in IT Infrastructure/Network group (not application help desk) </li><li>5+ years experience in CO, Headend and /or NOC environments </li><li>Administering Cisco CNR or BACC a plus </li><li>CCNP network certification a plus </li><li>JUNOS network certification a plus </li></ul> <p>Skills</p> <p>Arista Switches, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Cisco IOS XR, Cisco IP, Junos OS, Routing Protocols</p> <p>We believe that benefits should connect you to the support you need when it matters most, and should help you care for those who matter most.
