The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership skills, demonstrating the ability to effectively guide and support their team to achieve goals, collaborate effectively and maintain high performance.</p> <p>About the Role:</p> <p>The Executive Director of Workforce and Employer Engagement is responsible for identifying, developing and maintaining partnerships with businesses, educational institutions, workforce agencies, and community organizations. This role focuses on expanding workforce training programs, aligning skills training with employer and industry needs and connecting students to career opportunities.</p> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES</p> <p>Business Development and Sales</p> <ul> <li>Strong sales and relationship-building skills. </li><li>Ability to identify and secure new business opportunities. </li><li>Experience in developing and negotiating contracts and partnerships. </li></ul> <p>Workforce Development and Training Expertise</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of workforce training programs, upskilling, and industry-aligned skills development. </li><li>Familiarity with labor market trends and employer workforce needs. </li><li>Understanding of grant funding and workforce development policies. </li></ul> <p>Strategic Thinking and Problem-Solving</p> <ul> <li>Ability to assess business and industry needs to develop customized workforce solutions. </li><li>Strong analytical skills for program evaluation. </li></ul> <p>Communication and Presentation</p> <ul> <li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Strong public speaking and presentation abilities. </li><li>Ability to engage a variety of stakeholders, including business leaders, government agencies and educators. </li></ul> <p>Project Management and Organizational Skills</p> <ul> <li>Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships. </li><li>Strong attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>The following is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional requirements, and professional standards</p> <p>Team Management</p> <ul> <li>Lead, manage and develop a team of Employers Consultants, Program Managers, Talent Connection Managers, and others. </li><li>Foster a high-performing team culture through motivation, accountability, and strategic direction. </li><li>Demonstrate strong emotional intelligence to effectively engage and support team members. </li></ul> <p>Industry Engagement and Tracking</p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain strategic partnerships with businesses, workforce agencies, educational institutions, and community organizations. </li><li>Develop and implement a plan to effectively target and track engagement with key industries. </li><li>Maintain a database of employer partners and measure participation in workforce initiatives. </li><li>Create reports on industry engagement, highlighting successes, challenges, and opportunities for expansion. </li></ul> <p>Program Development</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate with employers to design and tailor workforce training programs that align with industry needs. </li><li>Work with instructional designers and trainers to develop and enhance curriculum based on employer requirements and workforce trends. </li></ul> <p>Business Development</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement strategies to increase program enrollment and revenue. </li><li>Present training solutions to corporate and community partners, highlighting ROI and workforce impact. </li><li>Work with the Development Division to identify funding sources, including government grants, private sector investments and workforce development incentives that can support our work. </li><li>Identify and engage potential clients, employers and stakeholders to promote workforce development and skills training programs. </li><li>Develop proposals and contracts to support training initiatives. </li><li>Provide consultation to employers on workforce solutions, including upskilling and reskilling strategies. </li></ul> <p>Stakeholder Engagement and Communication</p> <ul> <li>Act as a liaison between workforce development agencies, employers and training providers. </li><li>Conduct presentations, workshops, and meetings to promote workforce, skills training, apprenticeships and other relevant Ivy Tech programs and initiatives. </li></ul> <p>Career Fairs, Internships and Career Exposure Opportunities</p> <ul> <li>Work with employers to create meaningful experiential learning opportunities that enhance students' career readiness. </li><li>Track and evaluate the success of career events and internship programs, ensuring alignment with industry needs. </li></ul> <p>Performance Monitoring and Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to business development, skills training enrollment, and attainment of third-party certifications. </li><li>Provide reports on workforce training impact, funding utilization, and partnership growth. </li><li>Analyze program effectiveness and recommend improvements. </li></ul> <p>Cover Letter Required</p> <p>EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred. </li><li>3+ years of experience in business development, workforce training, or a related industry. </li><li>Experience working with workforce development boards, training providers, or employer-led initiatives is ideal. </li><li>Experience working with CRM systems (Customer Relationship Management) to track employer engagement and business development activities. </li><li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools and data analysis software. </li></ul> <p>Must be able and willing to travel to and from professional development or statewide activities.</p> <p>Ivy Tech Community College is an accredited, equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
