<p>Position Summary</p> <p>Under the direction of the Court Services Manager, this position will assist self-represented litigants by offering resources and legal information needed in all case types. This position will be based in the Legal Resource Center.</p> <p>Position Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Assists self-represented litigants by helping them navigate to court approved forms and legal services </li><li>Alongside the Court Services Manager, coordinates, schedules and facilitates detailed workshops lead by outside organizations and volunteer attorneys for self-represented litigants in order to improve court efficiency. </li><li>Manages referrals to legal services organizations. </li><li>Cultivates and maintains collaborative working relationships with legal services agencies and other community partners. </li><li>Gathers analytical data on a consistent basis for reporting and possible grant opportunities. </li><li>Creates informational documents and forms, with the approval and oversight of the Court Services Manager, for dissemination to self-represented litigants. </li><li>Works closely with the Court Services Manager and the Court's IT team to identify best practices when capturing specific data and streamlining processes for self-represented litigants. </li><li>Works directly with in-house mediators to make use of their services in the most efficient way possible. </li><li>Assists with other duties and responsibilities as needed. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>High school diploma or equivalent required. Post-secondary education beneficial. Prior court experience, minimum of 3 years, required. Sound professional judgment in determining the difference between legal information and legal advice is vital. Must possess strong critical thinking and evaluation skills. High aptitude in all court systems with the ability to integrate new technology is needed. Must have excellent organizational competency and the ability to multi-task. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be committed to working with the public in a logical, thoughtful and supportive manner.</p> <p>Salary is based on applicable experience.
