<p>Summary</p> <p>We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team for the Extended School Year program at Washington Avenue School. This position focuses on providing specialized instruction and support to students with specialized learning needs. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fostering an differentiated and engaging learning environment that promotes the academic development of all students. The program will run from June 24th through July 24th and the hours of instruction are from 8:30-12:30 each day.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. </li><li>Provide direct instruction in academic subjects. </li><li>Collaborate with special education staff and related service providers to ensure a cohesive approach to student support. </li><li>Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to promote growth and success. </li><li>Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation. </li><li>Communicate regularly with families to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies to support learning at home. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field. </li><li>Valid state certification in Special Education. </li><li>Experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting. </li><li>Strong understanding of IEP and implementation. </li><li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff. </li></ul>
