Our people are experts in a diverse range of industries including automotive, aerospace, infrastructure, print, packaging, FMCG, metals and many more.</p> <p>Position</p> <p>Purpose of role</p> <p>Providing support to Project Managers in regards to staffing, tooling, equipment, and project tracking.</p> <p>Main responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Effective planning, control and monitoring, both internally and direct with the client, of projects secured from the quotation stage, through negotiation to contract completion and final accounts </li><li>Effective project cost tracking and financial control. </li><li>Produce quotes and undertake estimating for small to medium sized engineering projects once training has been provided using the Company's standard commercial approach. </li><li>Provide general commercial and project support to the business unit to enable budgeted results to be achieved. </li><li>Effective liaison throughout the sales and order securing process and during contract works with other personnel on a national and international level </li><li>Reporting on contract performance regularly and to Company standard requirements, ensuring all potential opportunities, variations and risks are identified and reported to the Project Manager as soon as possible. </li><li>Define scope and methods of work </li><li>Ensure a pro-active approach is adopted to all existing and potential customers to build client relationships and boost market share. </li><li>Ensure all projects comply with Safety, Quality and other Company systems and procedures </li><li>Carry out effective national and international liaison as required. </li></ul> <p>Secondary Activities</p> <ul> <li>Assist in redefining, improving and ensuring all on-site contract controls, labor management and quality standards are met. </li><li>Co-operate with all Company Divisions to enable consistent and effective service to users. Enable effective internal and external communication. </li><li>Enable national and international co-ordination and mobility. </li></ul> <p>Please note</p> <p>From time to time your manager may ask you to undertake reasonable tasks not stated within this role profile but commensurate with your position. However, any significant changes will be discussed in consultation with you.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Experience and qualifications required</p> <ul> <li>Experience managing mechanical and electrical engineering projects mainly installations of production equipment. </li><li>Strong general experience of mechanical principles </li><li>Strong commercial skills and project management skills, particularly: negotiating, planning, estimating, costing and quoting. </li><li>Strong IT (MS Office) and numeracy skills. </li><li>Familiar with current OSHA standards. </li><li>Good financial skills including: </li><li>cost and budgetary controls </li><li>accounting controls and procedures through to final accounts </li><li>Project Management qualification or specific training </li><li>Ability to secure contractors license(s) for company </li></ul> <p>Personal characteristics required</p> <ul> <li>Excellent written and verbal skills at technical and professional levels </li><li>Able to explain technical concepts simply and succinctly </li><li>Solution oriented. </li><li>Able to work at a consistent level under pressure and demanding deadlines </li><li>Able to work with others in various team environments and to be confident and assertive with people at all levels; </li><li>Able to persuade others </li><li>Excellent time management skills, and able to prioritize multiple tasks </li><li>Able to build strong business relationships with key clients </li></ul> <p>Interfaces - internal and external</p> <ul> <li>Business Manager </li><li>Customers </li><li>Colleagues </li><li>Other group Managers </li><li>Directors </li><li>Suppliers </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>401(k) </li><li>401(k) 3% Match </li><li>Dental insurance </li><li>Health insurance </li><li>Health savings account </li><li>Life insurance </li><li>Paid time off </li><li>Vision insurance </li></ul> <p>Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>8 hour shift </li><li>Monday to Friday </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Financial analysis: 3 years (Required) </li><li>Construction estimating: 3 years (Required) </li><li>Rigging: 3 years (Required) </li></ul> <p>Ability to Relocate:</p> <ul> <li>Spartanburg, SC 29306: Relocate before starting work (Required) </li></ul> <p>Willingness to travel:</p> <ul> <li>75% (Required) </li></ul>
