<p>This is a temporary, grant-funded appointment from July 17, 2025 through August 15, 2025 and is supported by SUNY's Office of Opportunity Programs. SUNY Adirondack's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) will offer a 4 - week intensive Summer Bridge Program designed to assist financially and academically eligible, incoming freshmen with intensive academic instruction, enhanced orientation, and academic support services.</p> <ul> <li>Providing tutoring and supplemental instruction to program participants in subjects like </li></ul> <p>math, English, and reading.</p> <ul> <li>Leading study groups, workshops and study hall activities </li><li>Providing recreational activities to students </li><li>Working together to plan bonding activities for all incoming EOP students </li><li>Leading a team of 5-10 students and providing them with bonding activities and </li></ul> <p>mentoring throughout the summer program</p> <ul> <li>Serving as a Teacher's Assistant in selected classes (to be assigned based on Tutor </li></ul> <p>Mentor's academic strengths)</p> <ul> <li>Appropriately working with student participants to encourage participation, enhance </li></ul> <p>college preparation and maintain program academic and behavioral standards</p> <ul> <li>Attending staff training/orientation July 20 assisting with distribution of materials </li><li>Attend weekly staff meetings/workshops during the Summer Bridge Program </li><li>Other duties as assigned by the EOP Director, and EOP Advisor </li></ul> <p>Demonstrated knowledge, ability, and sensitivity to work with, teach, and counsel students who have been traditionally underrepresented in higher education.</p> <p>Student who has met high academic standards. 2.50 cumulative college GPA is preferred.</p> <p>Hours & Compensation: Hours will vary per week depending on student need, but Tutor Mentors should be prepared to work Sunday - Saturday. Compensation up to $3,000 for the duration of the Summer Bridge Program depending and hours worked.
