<p>April 28, 2025</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>03/25/2025</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY</p> <p>Internal and External</p> <p>POSITION: Nutrition Services Courier - Essential Personnel</p> <p>LOCATION: Various</p> <p>CLOSING DATE: March 25, 2025</p> <p>START DATE: April 28, 2025</p> <p>WORK YEAR: 12 Month</p> <p>COMPENSATION: Refer to Current Custodial Salary Scale</p> <p>FLSA STATUS: NonExempt</p> <p>POSITION GOAL:</p> <p>Ensuring food and supplies including produce from Penn Farm are efficiently transported to designated locations in accordance with established safety and sanitation guidelines according to the district HACCP program. Perform routine maintenance and repairs on nutrition services equipment and perform additional responsibilities as assigned. This position reports directly to the Nutrition Services Supervisor and to the Nutrition Specialist.</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</p> <ul> <li>Able to read, write and speak proficiently in the English Language. </li><li>Must be dependable and able to work without close supervision. </li><li>Must be able to conduct a physical inventory and maintain records on the computer as well as the inventory tracking system used by the district </li><li>Must be proficient in microsoft word applications and google doc system. </li><li>ServSafe Certified or Food Handler Certified preferred or willingness to obtain certification upon being hired </li><li>Cooperative attitude and ability to work well with management, school administration, co-workers, students and the public. </li><li>The ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and observe and take initiative where needed. </li><li>Possesses the physical ability to perform duties of the courier. The employee must be able to lift, push and/or move up to 50 pounds. He/she must also be able to work in extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions This job requires repetitive stooping, twisting and bending. </li><li>Possess a good driving record and a valid driver's license. </li><li>Shall be free from the use of drugs and alcohol, successfully pass routine drug testing. </li><li>Must successfully pass a fit for duty examination. </li><li>Must be able to stand for a minimum of 8 hours per work day. </li><li>Must report to work on time and have a good attendance record. </li><li>Willingness to assume additional responsibilities as assigned from the Nutrition Services Supervisor or Nutrition Specialist up to and including responsibilities on Penn Farm and kitchen maintenance. </li><li>Knowledge of necessary sanitation precautions and procedures during food transportation and storage according to the HACCP plan. </li><li>Acceptable Criminal Background Report and no entries on Child Abuse Registry. </li></ul> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities related to the District. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.</p> <ol> <li> <p>Shall transport food and supplies to designated locations with greatest time and temperature efficiency, according to the district HACCP plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall follow safe food handling practices in accordance with established HACCP plan throughout food transport, including but not limited to, use of specialized food transport containers, food temperatures and adherence to standards of health and safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall load and unload food delivery truck.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall quickly and safely deliver product/meals to designated locations, arriving no later than the appointed time.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall distribute transported meals and supplies to designated locations, rotating stock as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall accurately pull and deliver USDA Commodity items from the district freezer and deliver to designated locations.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall maintain accurate inventory and follow proper documentation procedures of USDA Commodities as directed by the Child Nutrition Management Team.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall document daily central freezer temperature logs according to district HACCP Plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall receive and stock USDA Commodities into the central freezer according to the established delivery schedule.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall conduct monthly physical inventory at the central freezer or assigned location.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall follow safe driving procedures as established by the Delaware Department of Transportation.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall maintain the interior of the transport vehicle in a clean and sanitary condition according to the district HACCP plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall ensure routine upkeep on the transport vehicle(s) including but not limited to gasoline, oil change, inflate tires and cleaning of mirrors and windows.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall maintain daily vehicle maintenance log according to HACCP plan.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall house and secure vehicle in a secure designated location.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall submit receipts to the Nutrition Services office for vehicle maintenance and other miscellaneous items</p> </li><li> <p>Shall assist Child Nutrition Management in training substitute courier.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall communicate daily with the Nutrition Specialist, reporting delivery and inventory concerns.</p> </li><li> <p>Adheres to approved standards of personal hygiene and grooming, including appearance, cleanliness and appropriate dress code.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall display an attitude of cooperation and accommodation to all co-workers, students, faculty, management, administration and general public.</p> </li><li> <p>Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager, Specialist or Supervisor.</p> </li><li> <p>Shall be available in case of emergency during and outside of the scheduled work day. Emergency situations such as freezer down, refrigerator down and need to transport food to another location.</p> </li></ol> <p>ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL DUTIES:</p> <p>This position in Colonial School District is considered an Essential Personnel position. Essential Personnel are required to be at work for emergencies during and outside of the scheduled work day, including weekends and holidays for duties including but not limited to</p> <ul> <li>Snow removal </li><li>Flooding in the building(s) </li><li>Response to alarms </li><li>Water damage after a storm </li></ul> <p>If, for some reason, the district closes or opens on an altered schedule, regardless of the message communicated by the District, you are expected to report to work on time or at the time stated by your supervisor.</p> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
