<p>Position Description</p> <p>ifm prover USA, inc. located in Malvern PA is looking for a technically inclined and curious student to complete his/her summer internship supporting our manufacturing engineering team during the upcoming summer break. During this summer opportunity the matching candidate will have the chance to gather first-hand experience completing research, evaluations, and hands-on tasks in different areas of engineering. The work environment will include laboratories, office space, as well as our production floor. This paid internship encompasses 8 weeks (possibly more, depending on candidate's availability) of 40 hours a week.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>During this summer the intern will complete a variety of tasks related to Mechanical and Process Engineering.</p> <p>o Mechanical Engineering Tasks:</p> <ul> <li>Design or redesign shrouds for existing machinery and fixtures using Solidworks </li><li>Labeling and documenting all wires, hoses and connections </li><li>Updating wiring diagram if necessary. </li><li>Cooperating with suppliers to obtain proper parts and products </li><li>Creating detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance </li><li>Researching possible replacement options and improvement opportunities </li></ul> <p>o Process Engineering Tasks</p> <ul> <li>With the support of ifm engineers help improve the automation of certain production line segments. </li><li>Collecting and documenting pertaining data </li><li>Improvement validation and implementation into production line </li></ul> <p>o Educational Content</p> <ul> <li>Equipment design for manufacturing environments </li><li>Modern fabrication methods </li><li>Ergonomic and Safety standards </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Technical aptitude and hands-on experience </li><li>Experience with Solidworks </li><li>Entry level knowledge of electrical wiring </li><li>Experience on a cnc mill will prove helpful in this role </li><li>Ability to work independently and on a team </li><li>Being driven and goal-oriented </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively in English (speaking, reading and writing) </li></ul> <p>Company Culture</p> <p>Learn more about ifm</p> <p>Company Description</p> <p>ifm prover USA, in Malvern, PA, has earned the distinguished Top Employers certification for 2020 and 2021 in North America for our outstanding people practices. ifm prover USA is a subsidiary of ifm electronic gmbh, a global company with over 9,055 employees in 150 countries serving 160,000 customers worldwide.
