<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The College of Emergency Preparedness, Homeland Security and Cybersecurity (CEHC) is the first of its kind in the nation; uniting people, technology and knowledge to address the challenges of the 21st century. ETEC is the $180M research, instructional and entrepreneurial complex in which CEHC resides, providing our faculty state of the art laboratory and teaching spaces.</p> <p>CEHC seeks applicants in the Information Sciences & Technology Department for a Lecturer in Game Design & Development. The candidate will teach courses which may include, but are not limited to, game programming, game art, game technology, the business of games, game studies, and game design. The candidate will provide service to the University and advise students and may also facilitate graduate/undergraduate interdisciplinary research projects; lead client-based projects; and help lead co-curricular activities.</p> <p>Applicants must provide evidence of gaming in their existing teaching or training program, with a focus on topics such as those above, and/or closely related subjects. Applicants must address their plan to contribute to the curriculum of the GDD major/minor.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A MA or MS in Game Design & Development, Information Science, English, Animation, computer Science, Engineering or Networking, or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization by 8/15/2025. Candidates who will not hold the degree by this date will not be considered. </li><li>Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community. </li><li>Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role. </li><li>Three or more years of teaching or training experience. </li><li>Applicants must demonstrate their experience or potential in teaching undergraduate courses in game design & development such as game programming, game art, game technology, the business of games, game studies, and game design. </li><li>Candidates must address their plan to contribute to the curriculum of the GDD major/minor. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>A PhD in Game design and development, Information Science, English, Animation, Computer Science, Engineering or Networking, or a closely related field from a college or university accredited by a U.S. Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization. </li><li>Experience teaching graduate courses in game design & development such as game programming, game art, game technology, the business of games, game studies, and game design. </li><li>Demonstrated experience or teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, online, and/or hybrid). </li><li>One or more years working in the game design and development industry. </li><li>Demonstrated participation in collaborative game design and/or development, including cross-disciplinary collaborative projects </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Professional Rank and Salary Range: Lecturer, Salary commensurate with experience.</p> <p>The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, or Clery Act, mandates that all Title IV institutions, without exception, prepare, publish and distribute an Annual Security Report.
