<p>Job Title: Research Chemist</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This company specializes in additives for chemicals within the paints and coatings industry. They primarily supply metal organics. This position involves product testing and development for customers in the paints and coatings industry, reporting to the Technical Service Chemist and/or Global Technical Manager.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Conduct product testing and evaluations for customers in the paints and coatings industry. </li><li>Report findings to the Technical Service Chemist and/or Global Technical Manager. </li><li>Develop and improve products. </li><li>Evaluate raw materials and conduct approvals. </li><li>Work independently at times and provide results. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Degree in Chemistry or appropriate Science. </li><li>Minimum of 3 years' experience in a lab specializing in polymers, coating additives, or resins. </li><li>Experience in synthesis and characterization of chemical compounds. </li><li>Understanding of the requirements for evaluation of customer products in the coatings, inks, UPR, and catalyst industries. </li><li>Experience working in an ISO environment. </li><li>Ability to run basic analytical equipment. </li><li>Ability to set up and run equipment for catalyst performance evaluations. </li><li>Meticulous attention to detail, conscientiousness, and creativity. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in analytical chemistry, wet chemistry, R&D, titration, FTIR, raw materials testing, laboratory work, quality control, gas chromatography, GCMS, development, formulation, and polymer chemistry. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The role will be based in a laboratory setting, working with various chemicals and analytical equipment.
