<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Teach Biology/Anatomy & Physiology courses to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies; develop, revise, and maintain course materials; recommend/design new programs; maintain office hours; participate in appropriate professional development opportunities; participate in College and community activities, promote the mission of the College; develop/implement retention strategies; assist in graduate placement; attend graduation ceremony; assist with student advising and registration; serve on College committees; promote institutional goals; assist department chair with administrative responsibilities. Teaching may be on any campus or by distance learning and may be days, nights, weekends, or a combination.</p> <p>TEACHING PERFORMANCE - The ability to present course materials through appropriate instructional strategies to facilitate the learning process.</p> <p>INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT - The development, revision, and maintenance of courses and curriculum through course objectives, outlines, and appropriate materials.</p> <p>INSTRUCTIONAL MANAGEMENT - The effective use of required office hours, exhibition of effective classroom management and control, and timely and accurately submitted reports.</p> <p>STUDENT ADVISEMENT - The participation of the faculty member, when applicable, in assisting students in personal and professional development.</p> <p>COLLEGE AND/OR COMMUNITY SERVICES - The participation in College activities and the promotion of the College through public service.</p> <p>PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT - The participation of the faculty member in activities designed to develop professional skills so as to maintain and improve proficiency in his/her present position.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Master's degree in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, or a closely related field.</p> <p>Teaching experience in Biology or Anatomy & Physiology at the college level, including lecture and laboratory instruction.</p> <p>Proficiency in using a learning management system (e.g., D2L/Brightspace), effective communication skills, and the ability to engage students through various teaching methods.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Doctorate in Biology, Anatomy & Physiology, or a related field.</p> <p>Three or more years of college-level teaching experience, with demonstrated success in engaging students through active learning techniques in both lecture and laboratory settings.</p> <p>Experience in developing, revising, and implementing curriculum and course materials that align with current scientific standards.</p> <p>Advanced skills in using digital teaching tools, online learning management systems (e.g., D2L/Brightspace), and virtual lab simulations.</p> <p>Proven experience in academic advising and mentoring, with a focus on student retention and success.</p> <p>Active involvement in professional organizations, continuous learning, and participation in relevant professional development activities.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>Some travel to training classes and conferences will be required. Professional, collegial and ethical conduct, decisions and relationships are expected at all times.</p>
