<p>Community School Corporation of Eastern Hancock County</p> <p>Elementary School Guidance Counselor/Social Worker</p> <p>Responsibilities/Requirements</p> <p>The School Counselor works with students and staff in an elementary setting to meet the social/emotional needs of students so that they can be successful.</p> <ul> <li>Provides classroom lessons as a Tier 1 support for all students. </li><li>Provides small group or one-on-one for Tier 2 students. </li><li>Assists staff in behavior modification and behavior plans. </li><li>Shows all students love, kindness and compassion. </li><li>Communicates well with all stakeholders. </li><li>Receives referrals and provides individual counseling to students in areas of personal, social, educational, and career development. </li><li>Works with groups of students who are experiencing similar difficulties or who could gain better understanding through working with others. </li><li>Assists parents in gathering, interpreting, and assimilating information considering student needs. </li><li>Provides an orientation program for all students new to the school, including giving tours to students and families. </li><li>Administers group tests and/or prepare those persons who will administer the tests. </li><li>Interprets individual and group testing data when relevant and use the feedback to facilitate the student's school performance. </li><li>Makes referrals of students with special problems to psychological services or other agencies </li><li>Consults with the parents, principal, teachers, and student regarding the referral, prepare the necessary forms, and serve as the contact between the school and referral agency. </li><li>Monitors student progress. </li><li>Assists the leadership team in being the PAR in case conferences. </li><li>Cooperates with social service agencies. </li><li>Maintains confidentiality about students, staff and families. </li><li>Promotes positive school culture. </li><li>The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the corporation. </li><li>Performs other counseling duties assigned by the principal when deemed necessary. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Current license in K-12 school counseling or social work preferred </li><li>Experience in elementary teaching and/or counseling is preferred </li></ul> <p>Community School Corporation of Eastern Hancock County is an equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>How to Apply</p> <p>Please include completed teaching application, resume, letter of interest, teaching license, and 2 letters of reference to Mr. Marcus Redick, EHES Principal.</p> <p>mredick@easternhancock.org</p> <p>Benefits for Certified Employees</p> <p>PTO Days - 13 days (pro-rated based upon hire date).
