<p>The Center for Disability Resources at Syracuse University is seeking to hire a full-time access coordinator. The coordinator will be a part of a dynamic team providing disability-related services to students. The scope of services includes engaging students in the interactive process to determine accommodations, manage the implementation of approved accommodations, coordinate with faculty and staff when necessary. The coordinator will provide outreach and programming to relevant stakeholders and expand CDR's presence in their assigned school/college. The ideal candidate is an independent and progressive thinker, who embraces the social justice model of disability.</p> <p>This position is part of a bargaining unit and is represented by the union SEIU, Local 200United.</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred in Higher Education, Disability Resources, Counseling, or a related field. </li><li>Three (3+) plus years of experience in disability resources or another related field in Higher Education setting. </li><li>Experience working in an educational setting, preferably with college-age students on a college campus. </li><li>Comfortable learning in a fast-paced environment with strict timelines. </li><li>Will consider years of experience in the disability resources field in lieu of advanced degree. </li></ul> <p>Skills and Knowledge</p> <ul> <li>Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and decision-making skills. </li><li>Well versed on disability-related accommodations and supports in a higher education setting and applicable disability laws. </li><li>Well versed on the Social Justice Model regarding disability services in Higher Education. </li><li>Creative and effective strategies to engage other marginalized students and increase overall student participation in CDR programming. </li><li>Working knowledge of program assessment and the development of student learning outcomes. </li><li>Familiarity with adaptive technology, universal design and other disability related strategies and interventions. </li><li>Possess computer-related skills, including Excel. </li><li>Familiar with learning and data management systems. </li></ul> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Working individually with students, engage in the interactive process, including review relevant disability-related documentation and consult with campus experts or healthcare providers as needed. </li><li>Directly or indirectly coordinate and implement disability-related accommodations. </li><li>Communicate with faculty and staff on an as-needed basis to ensure provision and delivery of necessary services and accommodations for students. </li><li>Work in concert with a team of access coordinators to deliver timely supports and reasonable accommodations to any student registered with or inquiring about CDR. </li><li>Participate in weekly case management and housing meetings, drop-in hours, and monitoring of CDRspecialist email. </li><li>Maintain student records and detailed case notes on all students using CDR's internal management system, Accommodate. </li><li>Act as a single point of contact/liaison for assigned school/college. </li><li>Conduct faculty outreach, attend department meetings, and provide ongoing professional development/training on faculty responsibilities. </li><li>Provide technical and administrative support for CDR's exam services during mid-terms and finals. </li><li>Participate in the development, promotion, and ongoing delivery of CDR events, programs and assessment activities. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Tools/Equipment </li><li>Application Instructions </li></ul> <p>In addition to completing an online application, please attach a resume and cover letter.</p>
