The Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds works with the Superintendent, Business Administrator and Principal to maintain the district's building, grounds and infrastructure in a manner conducive to the education of our students.</p> <ul> <li>Oversees the maintenance and operation of the district's building and grounds, including budget development and management, and supervising the department staff. </li><li>Assigned responsibilities of the district health & safety officer and designated person for all asbestos related issues. </li><li>Responsible for compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory agencies. </li><li>Supervise all major construction and renovation projects performed. </li><li>Performs custodial tasks as necessary. </li></ul> <p>Certifications Required:</p> <ul> <li>Certified Educational Facilities Manager </li><li>New Jersey Licensed Low Pressure Boiler License </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Possess a working knowledge of the principles, practices, materials and methods of building maintenance operation, and of the equipment used in services and maintenance activities. </li><li>Possess a working knowledge of plant operations. </li><li>Ability to plan, assign, direct and supervise work programs for custodial employees. </li><li>Possess a working knowledge of public school contract/bid laws pertaining to procurement of materials and services. </li><li>Ability to judge the value of new or obsolete equipment. </li><li>Ability to keep records, prepare reports including financial record keeping. </li><li>Ability to estimate needs and supplies in advance. </li><li>Ability to coordinate building maintenance activities with student schedules and activity calendars. </li><li>Abilility to exercise judgment and discretion in applying and interpreting district and school policies and procedures. </li><li>Ability to develop standards for performance. </li><li>Ability to plan and maintain schedules for short and long range cleaning and maintenance of district facilities. </li><li>Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician. </li><li>Possess a valid driver's license. </li><li>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. </li></ul> <p>AA/EOE</p>
