This position offers an excellent</p> <p>opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty</p> <p>contribute to and engage in instructional best practice for adult learners in an innovative,</p> <p>nontraditional university setting.</p> <p>Adjunct faculty have part-time teaching roles. Adjunct faculty can teach up to 2 courses per</p> <p>term, not to exceed 10 courses per year. This role participates in continuing professional</p> <p>development and may also engage in faculty governance and curriculum work as needed.</p> <p>Additional service activities may be assigned to Adjunct faculty. Scholarship is not required.</p> <p>Teaching assignments for Adjunct faculty may fluctuate and are contingent upon the schedule</p> <p>of courses. Adjunct faculty deliver high-quality instruction and foster an inclusive and supportive</p> <p>learning environment conducive to student success.</p> <p>What to expect in this role:</p> <p>? Provides a student-centered learning environment which enables students to attain</p> <p>success (classroom facilitation). Maintains program and course outcomes at a level to</p> <p>ensure appropriate workplace skill levels for graduates. Provides meaningful and</p> <p>substantive instruction throughout the course.</p> <p>? Reports concerns regarding student academic progress to Success Coaches or</p> <p>Academic Advisors, as appropriate. Refers students with questions regarding financial</p> <p>aid, academics, attendance, and personal issues or concerns to the appropriate</p> <p>departments.</p> <p>? Actively assists the University in retention and/or outreach efforts, which may include</p> <p>directly contacting students who are not engaged in the course or absent per department</p> <p>or campus guidelines.</p> <p>? Maintains open and timely communication with students and the university via Purdue</p> <p>Global e-mail. Reports student behavioral and Code of Student Conduct issues.</p> <p>? Participates in institutional assessment and assists Chairs and Deans to develop and</p> <p>implement new programs as assigned.</p> <p>? Regularly attends and participates in faculty meetings and continuous improvement</p> <p>sessions. Serves on university committees as assigned.</p> <p>? Remains current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are applicable</p> <p>to the program. Incorporates creative instructional strategies and/or learning activities.</p> <p>? Maintains and submits accurate and timely reports for student grades.</p> <p>? Follows university style and branding guidelines for materials that are created for</p> <p>students. Providing students with materials that always meet accessibility standards.</p> <p>Experience:</p> <p>Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, EdD) preferred from a regionally accredited institution</p> <p>MSN required from a regionally accredited institution</p> <p>Active unencumbered state RN license required</p> <p>APRN state licensure and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner required</p> <p>Minimum of three years in an advanced practice role required, preferably as a Family Nurse Practitioner</p> <p>Online teaching experience preferred</p> <p>What we're looking for:</p> <p>? Exceptional computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite, Google applications, and virtual</p> <p>meeting platforms. Experience with Brightspace software is preferred.</p> <p>? Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.</p> <p>? Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.</p> <p>? Experience developing online courses and an understanding of online andragogy is a plus.</p> <p>? Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with minimal supervision.</p> <p>? Ability to work in a multicultural environment, across diverse teams, departments, and</p> <p>Schools.</p> <p>Additional Information:</p> <ul> <li>This is a remote position. A typical adjunct in the School of Nursing can expect to receive $3300 per full 10-week course.
