<p>Reports To: Building Principal/Special Education Supervisor</p> <p>Work Schedule: 6.5 hours per day, Monday through Friday</p> <p>Salary: $22,080.00 starting annual salary</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> <p>Must have a minimum of 48 semester hours of secondary education or have passed the PRAXIS PARAPRO exam</p> <p>One or two years related experience working with students with disabilities is preferred</p> <p>Must pass the written test or meet the educational requirements of the "No Child Left Behind Act"</p> <p>Ability to meet the requirements and apply for an Educational Aide Permit with the Ohio Department of Education</p> <p>Ability to work effectively with students, this may include students who display aggressive, abusive, or inappropriate verbal and/or physical behavior</p> <p>Ability to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively</p> <p>Organizational and problem solving skills</p> <p>Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations</p> <p>Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students</p> <p>Knowledge and ability to apply behavior management techniques in enforcing school discipline in an appropriate context</p> <p>Must possess the physical strength and ability required to lift, assist restrain, or pursue handicapped students</p> <p>Clerical skills; including knowledge of office machines</p> <p>Previous experience working with computers preferred</p> <p>Maintains a good attendance record and is punctual</p>
