<p>OAPSE transfer requests (internal applications) will be accepted until 2:00 pm on 3/19/2025</p> <p>External applications will be accepted until the position is filled.</p> <p>Terms of employment in accordance with the OAPSE negotiated agreement</p> <ul> <li>Compensation: Starting hourly rate of $19.57 per hour and $1500 stipend; additional stipend available to qualified mechanics. </li><li>Days/Hours: 260-day calendar; 8 hours per day with paid 1/2-hour lunch (report times vary to accommodate department needs) </li><li>Additional Benefits: </li><li>Accumulative paid sick and vacation time; </li><li>Eligible for District Health Insurance; </li><li>Paid Holidays </li><li>Personal days (3) annually </li><li>Rental uniforms and coveralls or shop coats provided </li><li>Tool allowance available annually in accorance with the collective bargaining agreement </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent driving record with a minimum of a Class B CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements </li><li>ASE certified bus mechanic preferred </li><li>Must provide own mechanic tools and maintain their toolbox </li><li>Minimum of one (1) year experience as a heavy-duty truck mechanic; references required </li><li>Moderate to strong computer skills </li><li>Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; self-motivated </li></ul> <p>Duties and Responsibilities</p> <p>See the attached job description for specific duties and responsibilities required of the position.</p> <p>REQUIREMENTS TO BE ON FILE BEFORE A SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT CAN BEGIN WORK ARE:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>Favorable BCII (State) and FBI (Federal) background checks. </li><li>Negative drug screen result </li><li>Must be able to successfully complete DOT physical for duration of employment. </li></ul> <p>Employees must follow all board policies, all state, and federal laws, and adhere to the Ohio Code of Ethics set up by the Ohio Department of Education. Subject to all applicable laws, essential job functions of the position include the employee being punctual and capable of completing all of the duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.</p> <p>The successful candidate must complete all assigned Vector/SafeSchools courses as required.</p>
