Join us in our mission to provide an</p> <p>exceptional education experience that prepares students for success in school, career, and life.</p> <p>JOB GOAL:</p> <p>Provide psycho-educational services/evaluations to individual students, and consultation to</p> <p>parents/staff/administrators regarding behavior and learning concerns for students.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>? Licensed to practice School Psychology in the state of Ohio</p> <p>? Educational Specialist (Ed.S) in School Psychology preferred</p> <p>? Acts according to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.</p> <p>? Embraces high-performance standards (e.g., engagement, proficiency, resilience, etc.)</p> <p>? Holds/maintains required Ohio Department of Education credentials.</p> <p>? Maintains a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment.</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Ensure the safety of students.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide intensive psycho-educational evaluation of individual children identified as, or</p> </li></ol> <p>thought to have an educational disability.</p> <ol start="3"> <li> <p>Coordinate the written report of the evaluation team.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide the results of psycho-educational evaluation for consideration in the development</p> </li></ol> <p>of IEP's for each student with a disability</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Consult with teachers, parents and other educational personnel in matters relating to the </li></ol> <p>education and/or mental health of students identified or suspected of having an</p> <p>educational disability.</p> <ol start="6"> <li>Counsel individually and in groups with identified students in areas related to their </li></ol> <p>educational disability.</p> <ol start="7"> <li> <p>Maintain records on all students served.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate intellectual, social, academic and adaptive behavior of children referred.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in the identification and make recommendations during IEP development of</p> </li></ol> <p>students who are initially identified as a student with a disability.</p> <ol start="10"> <li> <p>Maintain clear and written reports.</p> </li><li> <p>Recommend appropriate classroom management strategies for behavior management</p> </li></ol> <p>with guidance counselors.</p> <ol start="12"> <li>Develop Functional Behavior Assessments and assist the intervention specialist to </li></ol> <p>develop Behavior Improvement Plans.</p> <ol start="13"> <li> <p>Schedule meetings with parents as necessary.</p> </li><li> <p>Make contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g. results of evaluation and</p> </li></ol> <p>resulting reports, as well as information disclosed by parent/teacher/outside resources.</p> <ol start="16"> <li> <p>Interact in a positive manner with staff, students and parents.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote good public relations through personal appearance, attitude and conversation.</p> </li><li> <p>Attend meetings and in-services as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Possesses the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrates the ability to make proper data based decisions when required</p> </li><li> <p>Able to effectively use software specific to the job function including but not limited to</p> </li></ol> <p>typical office application, digital calendar, word processing software, Special Education</p> <p>specific software and the District Student Information System.</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS:</p> <p>The district offers equal employment opportunity without regard to age, color, disability, genetic</p> <p>information, military status, national origin, race, religion, sex (including gender identity,</p> <p>pregnancy, and sexual orientation), or any other legally protected category. Performing tasks that require complex sequencing, dexterity, strength, stamina, etc.</p> <p>? Traveling to meetings and work assignments.</p> <p>?
