<p>Req Id: 31082</p> <p>Job Title: Lecturer - College of Engineering for Purdue in Indianapolis</p> <p>City: Indianapolis</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The College of Engineering solicits applications for multiple staff Lecturer positions for the Purdue University in Indianapolis campus, a comprehensive urban campus with transformative growth for the state's land-grant university. www.purdue.edu/campuses/indianapolis/. The positions will be part of the Engineering Projects in Community Service (EPICS) Program (https://engineering.purdue.edu/EPICS ) and/or the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program (https://engineering.purdue.edu/VIP ) and serve in leadership in the broader student focused programs within the college of engineering.</p> <p>Application Process</p> <p>Applications need to be submitted to this site and need to include (1) a complete curriculum vitae, (2) a teaching statement that includes the teaching philosophy, interests, and experience, and (3) at least three names of references.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Applicants must have a B.S. and M.S. in Engineering, Computer Science or related field. Background in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical and/or Computer Engineering and Ph.D. preferred.</p> <p>Applicants should have experience in the practice or teaching of design, engineering, computing or technology. Experience mentoring project-based courses, especially those which satisfy capstone requirements, also preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered. Applicants must have the ability to take the initiative to solve problems, assume responsibility, and establish and maintain quality standards. In addition, applicants should have excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, the ability to work with people of various backgrounds, good time management and organizational skills, the ability to learn and adapt to changing learning environments, and the ability to work with students, undergraduate and graduate, and faculty in mentoring students' teams through their design projects.</p> <p>The position is a non-faculty rank, staff teaching position, with continuing appointment. In addition to the training period in West Lafayette, occasional travel will be required between locations.</p> <p>A background check will be required for employment in this position.</p> <p>References will only be contacted and collected for the finalist.</p> <p>Purdue University is an EOE/AA employer.
