<p>POSITION SUMMARY:</p> <p>The Sr. Human Resources Generalist serves as a member of the human resources department and directs and oversees day-to-day Human Resources functions for assigned branches including employee relations, policies and procedures, compliance, full cycle recruitment, investigation, performance management, discipline, safety and learning and development. Assist in the development and implementation of human resources strategy to attract, recruit, retain and hire that creates a safe and positive atmosphere that is Welcoming, Genuine, Hopeful, Nurturing and Determined.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:</p> <p>Recruitment & Retention</p> <ul> <li>Manages full cycle talent acquisition process, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring and onboarding, ensuring measurement of recruitment methods and accordance with corporate polices and state and federal employment laws. </li><li>Train leadership regarding internal and external recruitment practices, including but not limited to staffing requisition process, hiring, interview process, equity, job development, and new employee orientation. </li><li>Tracks relevant data and generates regular reports on effectiveness of recruitment efforts. Analyzes data to spot trends and make recommendations to improve effectiveness and efficiency. </li><li>Facilitates and manages the interview process including panel selection to ensure fair and defensible selection decisions. Acts as a liaison between candidates and hiring manager. </li><li>Ensures job descriptions are up to date, accurate and compliant with relevant federal, state and local laws for all positions. </li><li>Conducts exit interviews to assist organization in development of retention strategies. </li></ul> <p>Employee Relations and Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Determine and implement practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship, and promote a high level of employee engagement and morale, i.e. rewards and recognition, </li><li>Coaches and advises leadership in employee relations matters, including the areas of performance improvement, corrective counseling, interpretation of HR policies and procedures; ensuring compliance to local, state and federal regulations and YMCA policy and procedure, i.e. ADA, FMLA, </li><li>Conducts independent investigations on key employee concerns including workplace and sexual harassment, discrimination, ensuring the maintenance of records, reports and logs. </li><li>Assist in the development, communication, and enforcement of employee handbook, human resources policies, procedures, and programs. </li><li>Assist in development, implementaton & oversight of recognition program ensuring employee morale boosting events occur. </li></ul> <p>Safety</p> <ul> <li>Recommends and implements training for staff to prevent losses, improve program quality and provide a safe and secure environment. Analyzes employee accident and loss trends and assist in developing solutions to address losses. </li><li>Ensures drivers are eligible to drive under insurance program. </li><li>Manages the drug and alcohol-testing program for CDL drivers and other random drug and alcohol-testing. </li></ul> <p>Learning & Development</p> <ul> <li>Tracks and measure Y-USA leadership development programs for all leader levels by monitoring, analyzing and reporting completion rates and program effectiveness. </li><li>Continually evaluates human resources specific and safety trainings and procedures to monitor and analyze effectiveness and update curriculum as needed. </li></ul> <p>Continuous Process Improvement</p> <ul> <li>Develop and implement new approaches, procedure changes and innovative solutions to continually improve efficiency and employee experience. Identify, document and communicate process improvement opportunities. </li><li>Assist in any special projects that arise (research, create reports, etc.) and other human resources work as required. </li><li>Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. </li><li>Partner with HR leadership in assessing, planning and implementing enhancements to processes and procedures </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of 5 years recruitment experience, preferably in a corporate human resources environment, including internet and social media sourcing, </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of human resources generalist experience to include employee relations, compliance, corrective counseling, recruitment, performance management, policies and procedure interpretation and investigations. </li></ul> <p>Certification(s) & Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Professional Human Resource (PHR) or other recognized HR certification preferred. </li><li>Must maintain a valid Ohio Driver's License and meet YMCA of Greater Cleveland driving criteria. </li></ul> <p>Technical Skills and Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to deliver difficult messages, and provide objective feedback to employees and leadership. · Proven track record in using coaching to develop supervisors and decrease serious employee relations issues. · Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a high volume environment · Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to relate to diverse individuals · Ability to work independently and be a strong team player </li><li>Ability to perform work with a high degree of accuracy and organization. </li><li>Excellent time management, customer service, and organizational skills </li><li>Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite with excellent Excel skills, </li></ul> <p>experience with comparable HRIS system preference for ADP, Kronos, or Ceridian</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of state, local, and federal regulations associated with employment </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills to be able to interact with all levels of organization, including professionals, senior management, employees and volunteers. </li><li>Strong presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to deliver successful presentations to individuals and/or large groups at all levels of the organization </li><li>Maintain confidentially and respect for all individuals as well as sensitive human resources information in the association </li><li>Willingness and ability to model the key attributes; Welcoming, Genuine, Hopeful, Nurturing and Determined. </li><li>Demonstrate commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA and uphold its values and ethics. </li><li>Ability to work effectively work with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions </li><li>All employees are required to follow the child abuse and neglect reporting process including form completion, calling children protective services (696-Kids) and notifying your immediate supervisor, branch executive, risk management and human resources department (s). </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS:</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, and depth perception.</p> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT:</p> <ul> <li>Performs work in an office setting with moderate levels of noise, sitting for long periods of time, repetitive motion using computers and phones, with exposure to fluorescent lighting </li><li>The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy </li><li>Ability to travel frequently to non-corporate office locations and colleges and universities.
