<p>Job Description</p> <p>Stress and Lifing Engineer</p> <p>Indianapolis, IN</p> <p>An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Stress and Lifing Engineer that will operate in an extremely exciting space ensuring we help maximize our products time on wing and continued safe operation. As a Stress and Lifing Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural analysis of a variety of critical part components, ranging from fan discs, compressor discs, blisks & drums, turbine discs & cover plates as well as mainline shafts and stub-shafts. You can learn more here.</p> <p>Key Accountabilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct mechanical integrity, stress and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical models </li><li>Identify root cause and resolve problems through evaluative judgements and analysis </li><li>Point of contact between the mechanical integrity discipline and other functions and customers </li><li>Point of contact within a given engineering discipline and to share subject matter knowledge across the function </li><li>Promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement (s of tools, processes and methods) both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team </li></ul> <p>Basic Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing, OR </li><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 1+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering, OR </li><li>Master's degree or PhD in Engineering </li><li>To be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen </li></ul> <p>Preferred Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in finite element analysis, preferably using Ansys </li><li>Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parameters </li><li>Knowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworks </li><li>Membership of a relevant professional body appropriate to region </li><li>Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization </li></ul> <p>Pioneer the next generation of innovation.
