<p>Req Id: 35502</p> <p>Job Title: Visiting Assistant Professor, Large Animal Surgery</p> <p>City: West Lafayette</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine (PVM), Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS), invites applications for a full-time, 2-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in Large Animal Surgery.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications for the position include a DVM or equivalent degree, and board certification or completion of a residency program registered by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS). The successful candidate will participate in a shared on-call emergency service. Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. A background check is required for employment by the University.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>The successful candidate will actively participate in the discovery, learning and engagement missions of the PVM and VCS department. Clinical Service: Providing clinical service to patients of the Purdue Veterinary Hospital with a time commitment of 50-70%, including supervising veterinary students, veterinary nursing students, and house officers; and building strong relationships with referring veterinarians. Back up emergency call is shared with other faculty. Learning: Excellent clinical, didactic and laboratory instruction of veterinary students, veterinary nursing students, house officers, and graduate students. There will be an expectation of a small commitment of time (5-10%) to collaborative teaching in other elective courses focusing on clinically applied topics. Discovery: All faculty are expected to collaborate on clinical research projects.
