<p>SUMMARY</p> <p>The Production Maintenance Technician II ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; and troubleshooting malfunctions. This position will maintain the production equipment to ensure all machines are maintained per FDA Quality Standards and OSHA requirements. THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION 2pm-10:30pm.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Supports and performs planned maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, throughout production. </li><li>Prepares and submits maintenance reports to the engineering manager. </li><li>Answers direct requests from the manufacturing floor "calls" by making the initial evaluation of the situation and determining what level of maintenance is needed for the issue/repair and resolves as appropriate. </li><li>Performs root cause analysis when problems arise to determine if actions can be taken immediately and/or appropriate personnel needs to be called. </li><li>Participates in equipment optimization and cost control/reduction activities. </li><li>Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation. </li><li>Ability to interpret engineering blueprints including schematics (mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic). </li><li>Performs changeovers on equipment as required by production schedule. </li><li>Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance. </li><li>Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. </li><li>Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. </li><li>Participates in cross functional process improvement teams. </li><li>May assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by fluctuating business needs. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Must possess and demonstrate a high degree of skill and a broad knowledge of mechanical principles and electro-mechanical techniques, pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, robotics or other technical expertise, PLC's plus diversified long-term experience. </li><li>Ability to utilize basic and advanced hand tools for a multitude of applications. </li><li>Ability to interact closely with other departments to support customer focus and efficient operations. </li><li>Ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment. </li><li>Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. </li><li>Demonstrates organizational skills and is very detail oriented. </li><li>Able to lift up to 50 pounds. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li><li>Minimum of two-year degree in Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering and/or related field preferred </li><li>Advanced technical or college training preferred </li><li>Strong mechanical aptitude </li><li>Basic electrical troubleshooting </li><li>Skilled in Microsoft applications, MS Word and MS Excel. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT</p> <p>The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position should be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods, climb ladders/stairs, and operate handheld power tools.
