Our renovated office, located in Carmel, IN, is only steps away from the Carmel City Center for shopping, dining, and entertainment.</p> <p>The Adventure Ahead:</p> <p>As the Specialty Underwriter, you will review insurance applications to evaluate, classify, and rate each risk to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing. Establish, maintain, and develop agency and/or broker relationships. Position has defined underwriting authority and business development responsibilities.</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate new and renewal policy applications and related documents to classify and assess each risk, determine acceptability, assign rating, indicate endorsements and limits, and determine appropriate pricing </li><li>Cultivate relationships with brokers, internal staff, and external contacts to facilitate the underwriting process, promote business development, and to remain abreast of industry trends </li><li>Create and maintain all documentation including new or renewal bound files, underwriting worksheets, and other key documents according to departmental guidelines </li><li>Approve or deny risks within given authority or recommend approval or denial to higher authority </li><li>Adhere to all company underwriting authority directives, underwriting guidelines, and other applicable company policies and procedures </li></ul> <p>Skills and Experience Needed:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors degree in a related field, or the equivalent education and /or experience </li><li>Minimum of two years of relevant and progressive professional experience </li><li>Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment </li><li>Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; advanced organizational and analytical skills </li><li>Demonstrated ability of solid written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy </li></ul> <p>We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including:</p> <ul> <li>Hybrid position (3 days in-office) with a flexible work schedule </li><li>Full benefits (Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k) </li><li>Eleven company-paid holidays plus 20 PTO days </li><li>Casual dress environment </li></ul> <p>WorldTrips is an equal opportunity employer.
