Reasonable accommodation for the specific disability will be made for the incumbent/applicant only to the extent medically and reasonably feasible.</p> <p>An Equal Opportunity Employer</p> <p>JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for cleaning and maintaining county right-of-way and properties along designated routes or in response to citizen complaints.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Maintains county property and right-of-way by removing litter and illegally dumped items. </li><li>Responds to complaints from citizens regarding dumpsites; clean the area and monitor future dumping. </li><li>Assists boom truck drivers and other county employees with the bulk item and dumpsite pick up. </li><li>Removal of debris from extreme weather conditions from curbs, ditches, or inlets. </li><li>Interacts with citizens and boom truck drivers in the removal of dumped items and debris. </li><li>Loads and unloads supplies such as trash bags and trash grabbers from trucks. </li><li>Assists boom truck drivers with the removal of trash and carts as needed. </li><li>Removes litter from trucks at the landfill; sorts litter into recyclable products. </li><li>Drives a light-duty pickup truck to pick up litter and transport it to the landfill. </li></ul> <p>SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Performs other related duties as required. </li></ul> <p>PERSONNEL SUPERVISED: None</p> <p>WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an outdoor environment with frequent exposure to unfavorable weather conditions. May be required to work Saturdays as needed.</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Good knowledge of safety procedures and practices with the use of equipment on sanitation trucks. </li><li>Some knowledge of county right-of-way rules and regulations. </li><li>Ability to understand simple written and oral instructions. </li><li>Ability to work safely within the landfill to avoid injury to self or coworkers. </li><li>Ability to attend work regularly and reliably. </li><li>Skill in the operation of light and medium trucks. </li><li>Skill in the operation of a smartphone. </li><li>Skill in the use of hand tools and light power tools. </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <ul> <li></li><li>Digital dexterity is necessary for tool use and equipment operation. </li><li>Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time in all weather conditions. </li><li>Ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds without assistance and up to 60-80 pounds with assistance. </li><li>Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. </li><li>Ability to concentrate for long periods of time. </li></ul> <p>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Completion of elementary school providing training in reading and writing; some experience in manual labor, driving a truck, or related area; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.</p> <ul> <li>Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and a pre-employment job-related physical. </li><li>In addition to pre-employment checks, employees who operate county vehicles are required to undergo an annual motor vehicle report. </li><li>Must possess or be able to immediately obtain a valid Arkansas Driver's License. </li><li>This position is safety sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. </li><li>Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position. </li></ul>
