The Infection Preventionist, reporting to the MGH Director of Infection Control, must have knowledge and experience in infection prevention and control principles and practice, the ability to make evidence-based decisions, excellent problem-solving skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills.</p> <p>MGB is in an active change management environment and the Infection Preventionist will need to demonstrate flexibility and open mindedness as the contours of this position will actively evolve over time.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Description - Internal</p> <p>Under the supervision and in collaboration with the MGH Director of Infection Control, the Infection Preventionist</p> <ol> <li> <p>Implement at the site-level, system infection prevention and control goals, plans, policies, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, regulatory/legal requirements and objectives of the organization.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement site NHSN and non-NHSN surveillance, remediation, and reporting of infections, including outbreak detection and response.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct regular Environment of Care rounds and report findings to appropriate local and system leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Support continuous improvement of infection prevention and control practices.</p> </li><li> <p>Function as a site liaison to regulatory agencies and public health authorities.</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluate the site-specific infection control program by identifying strategies that address the risk of infection transmission.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversee and conduct site-specific educational efforts related to infection prevention and control.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement, in collaboration with MGB Occupational Health Services, policies and procedures to assess, mitigate, and respond to occupational infection risk.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with other site-specific stakeholders (e.g., Environmental Health and Safety, Compliance, Facilities, Real Estate, etc) as appropriate.</p> </li><li> <p>Act as NHSN site administrator when assigned by MGB Director of Infection Control.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in IPCC Working Groups and other activities as assigned.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>Qualifications - Internal</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree required.
