<p>Job Advertisement</p> <p>The City of Keene is seeking a highly motivated detailed oriented self-starter to serve in the capacity as Assistant City Attorney. The successful candidate will serve as a member of the City's legal team with a primary responsibility for assisting the City police department the City Attorney and the City Clerk in responding to governmental records requests including criminal discovery requests and assisting the police department and all other City departments in responding to requests for access to governmental records under New Hampshire RSA 91-A. The Assistant City Attorney will coordinate governmental records searches review all responsive records including videos perform required redactions and prepare responses in a timely manner in accordance with applicable law. The position will be located at the Keene Police Department. The Assistant City Attorney will also provide support to the City Attorney in representing the interests of the City in all matters in which the City has a legal interest before any court tribunal or quasi-judicial body; will prepare necessary pleadings and appear as directed before any tribunal; will prepare and review legal documents including for the purchase and sale or real property; will assist and advise the City's land use boards; and will attend meetings of the City Council City Council standing committees and meetings of City boards commissions and legislative bodies. Minimum Qualifications: Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and admitted to the New Hampshire Bar. Three to five years of relevant experience preferably in a municipal law context. Excellent writing analytical and verbal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Case Maker.
