<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Dean College is looking for an accomplished, student-centered educator to teach courses throughout the Early Childhood Education program. In addition to teaching courses in the program, the successful candidate will identify and coordinate student teaching experiences, including developing relationships with schools, monitoring program needs, and placing students.</p> <p>The faculty member will work with Dean College's on-campus lab school to provide students with the background and skills to succeed as future educators, while getting a solid liberal arts foundation.</p> <p>Applications may be considered until the position is filled. Priority will be given to applications received by March 23, 2025.</p> <p>Position responsibilities include:</p> <ul> <li>An overall equivalent teaching load of 15 contact hours each semester. </li><li>Teach appropriate courses in Early Childhood Education. </li><li>Supervise, assess, and revise field experiences, including community sites. </li><li>Visit students at their field experience sites. </li><li>Facilitate orientation meetings for students before their first field experience and for cooperating teachers and directors at field experience sites. </li><li>Review students' professional portfolios and assess for essential skills. </li><li>Develop curriculum grounded in best practices and assess the results of program initiatives. </li><li>Assist in writing and revision of program-related/supervising practitioner handbooks and with curriculum development, course revisions and assessment of the major. </li><li>Coach and mentor students regarding academic and career goals. </li><li>Hold office hours as required and meet with students by appointment. </li><li>Participate in committees as assigned, attend school and program meetings, recruitment activities and new student orientation programs. </li><li>There is no faculty advising load. Students are served by a professional advising staff. </li><li>Other duties as required or assigned. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>PhD/EdD in Early Childhood Education (PreK-3) and/or Curriculum and Instruction with teaching experience in a PreK-K setting is required. </li><li>Experience developing relationships is preferred. </li><li>A minimum of three years of full-time undergraduate teaching experience is required. </li><li>Background in curriculum development and innovative classroom pedagogy is a plus.
