<p>JOB GOAL:</p> <p>To help students in the EXCEL Medical & Health Science course develop the professional and technical skills and knowledge required to forge forward in exploring careers in the medical career strand by connecting students to mentors, real client-based projects, and internships to enhance learning experiences.</p> <p>TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Nine and one-half (9.50) month contract (195 days), plus benefit package. NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience. FLSA: EXEMPT.</p> <p>Salary Range: $</p> <p>TEACHER SALARY SCHEDULE</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or satisfactory work experience in order to qualify for a teaching workforce permit issued by the Arkansas Department of Education. Master's degree in related field preferred. </li><li>Must meet requirements to be employed as an adjunct professor at UA Pulaski Technical College, which requires 18 graduate hours in the content area. </li><li>Relevant experience including with at least 5 years of acceptable experience with an industry recognized certification. Strong knowledge of medical and health practices and procedures, terminology and ethics. </li><li>Strong desire to expose students to career opportunities in the field. </li></ul> <p>Such alternatives and additions to the above qualifications may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may require.</p> <p>ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.</p> <ul> <li>Create and maintain professional relationships with students </li><li>Facilitate project-based classroom as "lead learner" </li><li>Guide students on professional projects </li><li>Establish a professional business environment for the students </li><li>Collaborate with the post secondary institutions' to meet requirements for students to earn concurrent credit </li><li>Communicate with medical and health experts to establish mentorships and internships for students </li><li>Speak to groups about the EXCEL Careers for Advanced Professional Studies </li><li>Engage with professional organizations that promote medical and health careers </li><li>Follow the schools policies and procedures for grading </li><li>Maintain and sustain a strong local advisory group </li><li>Recruit students for the medical and health science course </li><li>Attend required summer professional provided by the CAPS Network. </li><li>Job performance will be evaluated using the Teacher Excellence and Support System adopted by the Arkansas Department of Education and Little Rock School District </li><li>Planning and Preparation </li><li>Classroom Environment </li><li>Instruction </li><li>Professional Responsibilities </li></ul> <p>NOTE: Performs other related essential and/or secondary duties as assigned.</p> <p>Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, handling and working with educational materials and/or objects, and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period, and to be physically present and at assigned work, with only infrequent unexcused absences, during the contract year. Additional technical skills, knowledge, and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.</p>
