<p>Description</p> <p>Battery Park Montessori is hiring a Mandarin-speaking Infant and Toddler Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year beginning August 1, 2025.</p> <p>Battery Park Montessori is a trilingual Montessori program with Spanish, Mandarin and English speaking teachers. Our teachers see themselves as committed professionals and constantly develop skills in planning, classroom preparation, student facilitation and observation/assessment.</p> <p>ABOUT YOU</p> <ul> <li>You are knowledgeable about the Montessori curriculum and philosophy and are able to successfully employ highly effective teaching practices </li><li>You love to create welcoming and stimulating learning environments for infants and toddlers </li><li>You are experienced in creating works - that are in line with the philosophy - intended to specifically teach language. </li><li>You enjoy collaborating with fellow teachers to co-create curriculum </li><li>You are dedicated to internationalism and anti-bias teaching practices and maintain a positive school culture for everyone in the community </li><li>You have exceptional communication skills with children, teachers and parents and a nurturing, supportive approach </li><li>You are trustworthy flexible, and dependable </li><li>You are fluent in Mandarin </li></ul> <p>ROLE OF THE MONTESSORI TODDLER TEACHER</p> <ul> <li>Create welcoming, functional, safe, attractive, de-cluttered, stimulating and physically comfortable learning environments </li><li>Assist children during bathroom or hygiene-related activities </li><li>Work with the team to establish classroom procedures and protocols and shared responsibilities across the school (i.e. laundry duty, pantry clean-up, library organization, etc.) </li><li>Conduct parent information sessions, parent education events, and attend parent social events that build community - most of which take place in the evenings </li><li>Maintain observation records of student assessment over the year </li><li>Communicate with parents, both formally and informally </li><li>Participate collaboratively in curriculum development, program planning, school evaluation processes, and other faculty meetings as required by the school administration </li><li>Participate in in-service educational activities provided by the school and/or self-elected professional growth activities. </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS</p> <ul> <li>Health, Dental, Vision, Disability and Life insurance plans </li><li>Generous paid time off policies </li><li>401K retirement account with up to 4% matching </li><li>Tuition discounts to children of employees </li><li>Professional development and training </li><li>Professional, dedicated team of teachers who care deeply about our work </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Montessori teaching experience required </li><li>Education: Bachelors Degree in Education or a related field (Masters preferred) or candidates that meet the requirements of a Preschool group teacher in New York City </li><li>Experience: Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience </li><li>Fluent in English (able to successfully attend workshops, read professional information and work collaboratively in the language.) </li><li>Full Fluency in Mandarin is required </li><li>Strong oral and written communication skills </li><li>Legally authorized to work now and in the future in the United States </li></ul>
