This role ensures compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and industry regulations while supporting month-end close and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of mortgage accounting practices and is comfortable leading a small team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Manage Accounting Operations including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Ensure accurate posting of payables and timely invoicing of collection activities. </li><li>Manage the process on third-party recovery. Including identifying opportunities for recovery of TPO or Correspondent premiums for EPD, EPO, paydowns and rep and warrant errors. Work with department heads </li><li>Owns all external reporting; regulators, investors, GSEs, government agencies, warehouse banks. </li><li>Responsible for measuring and monitoring balance sheet risk at the portfolio level, including repurchases, loan sales, loan loss coverage. </li><li>Responsible for banking administration, including ACH and wire approval, template approval and control reporting for the CEO, VP Controller and Audit Commitee </li><li>Leads the enhancement and streamlining of financial management reporting efforts. </li><li>Internal Servicing Reporting, work with Servicing on reporting, interest income and portfolio performance. </li><li>Assists the CFO in annual tax compliance and filings. </li><li>Lead and mentor a diverse team of managers and analysts, conduct formal and informal performance and compensation reviews, set goals, set priorities and ensure appropriate training and development efforts are in place. </li><li>Ensure timely and accurate investor reporting, including remittances, payoff reconciliations, and purchase advices for agencies and private investors. Remain up to date on investor requirements and manage compliance to avoid penalties or buybacks. </li><li>Serve as a key contact for external auditors and regulatory examiners. Prepare required schedules, documentation, and reconciliations to support financial audits, HMDA, and other regulatory filings. </li><li>Develop, document, and maintain mortgage accounting policies and procedures. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement automation tools to improve efficiency and accuracy. </li><li>Ensure that accounting systems (e.g., LoanVision) are correctly integrated and functioning. Liaise with IT or vendors for troubleshooting and upgrades. </li><li>Supervise, mentor, and train accounting staff involved in mortgage operations.
