Posting Number 20166635S Job Description</p> <p>The primary focus of this position is management of the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) program including monitoring of federal regulations to ensure compliance as well as implementation of regulatory changes, as needed. Responsible for frequent correspondence with students regarding SAP appeals and outcomes, appeal preparation, and chairing the appeal committee. This position also manages professional judgment processing, specifically adjustments to Costs of Attendance, Dependency Appeals, and the Change of Income process. This includes analysis of payroll and tax documentation, need analysis calculations, and ISIR correction processing along with frequent correspondence with students and parents. Advises students and parents and participates in presentations and outreach for financial aid, recruitment, and/or enrollment management initiatives.</p> <p>Manages the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) program by monitoring federal regulations to ensure compliance as well as implementation of regulatory changes, as needed. Responsible for frequent correspondence with students regarding SAP appeals and outcomes, appeal preparation, and chairing the appeal committee. Implements annual SAP processing in PeopleSoft and utilizes OBI and PeopleSoft reports to make necessary system updates to ensure accurate evaluation.</p> <p>Directs professional judgment processing for the office, specifically the Change of Income process, but also Cost of Attendance adjustments, one-time payment adjustments, and Dependency Appeals. This includes analysis of payroll and tax documentation, performing need analysis calculations, and ISIR correction processing along with frequent correspondence with students and parents. Analyzes emergency micro-grant requests and provides funding recommendations.</p> <p>Provide direct advising to an assigned alpha load of students and parents on all financial aid and scholarship matters. Advising includes explanation of types and terms of aid, affordability, costs, repayment, Satisfactory Academic Progress and financial literacy. For specified students, resolve federal student aid over awards, track eligibility for various types of financial aid and manage award revisions due to enrollment or campus changes.</p> <p>Presents at Undergraduate Admissions recruitment/yield events, representing the office to prospective students and families. Presents to various university college classes and student organization events, upon request to continuing undergraduate and graduate students. Participates in professional development opportunities, such as NCAA, OASFAA, MASFAA, NASFAA and U.S. Department of Education conferences and trainings. Includes some travel.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in any field conferred by start date and at least 3 years of related work experience. Types of relatable experience may include banking, education, accounting, and other fields that are customer service or program management.</p> <p>An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Master's degree</p> <p>Department Student Financial Aid Pay Rate</p> <p>The hiring range for pay grade 15 is $43,888-$45,837. Salary is commensurate with education and experience, while also considering internal equity.
