<p>Main Purpose of the Role</p> <p>AEW is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Corporate Controller to join our Corporate Finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller will play a critical role in managing the corporate finance and accounting functions of the firm. This individual will serve as a strategic thought partner to the CFO and drive financial processes, reporting, controls, and operational efficiency across the corporate platform.</p> <p>The Corporate Controller will oversee the day-to-day operations of the corporate accounting team, manage and mentor staff, and partner closely with senior leadership on key financial initiatives.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Partner closely with the CFO to lead and evolve the corporate finance and accounting function. </li><li>Drive financial process improvements, system enhancements, and best practices across the finance group. </li><li>Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and growth initiatives. </li><li>Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for corporate AEW and its non-US subsidiaries. </li><li>Prepare and review internal and external financial reporting packages. </li><li>Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements. </li><li>Manage the annual financial statement audit process and be primary liaison with external auditors. </li><li>Co-lead the financial planning process encompassing annual budgeting, periodic re-forecasting and variance analysis. </li><li>Key financial liaison with AEW's parent company finance group. </li><li>Participate in managing applicable treasury administration. </li><li>Maintain and enhance internal controls and corporate accounting policies. </li><li>Manage, mentor, and develop members of the corporate accounting team. </li><li>Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance culture within the Corporate Finance organization. </li></ul> <p>Skills/Experience Required</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting required, CPA strongly preferred. </li><li>10+ years of corporate accounting/controllership experience in the asset management/financial services industry preferred. </li><li>Strong technical accounting skills with deep understanding of GAAP/IFRS (including accounting for multi-currency entities). </li><li>Proven ability to lead, develop, and mentor accounting teams. </li><li>Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to partner across all levels of the organization. </li><li>Deep experience with accounting/general ledger systems, reporting tools and FP&A technology (familiarity with MS Great Plains, Oracle Planning, Oracle Smartview/Essbase a plus). </li><li>Expertise in Excel required (intermediate/advanced knowledge). </li><li>Maintains strong attention to detail and analytical thinking while maintaining a big-picture view. </li><li>Possesses a "player-coach" work-style. </li><li>Collaborative and approachable leadership style. </li><li>High degree of integrity, professionalism, and discretion. </li><li>Proactive, adaptable, and results-oriented. </li></ul> <p>AEW Capital Management is an affirmative action-equal opportunity employer.</p> <p>Apply Now!</p>
