<p>Req Id: 36334</p> <p>Job Title: Summer Student UR Conductor Tour Guide - Student Clerical</p> <p>City: West Lafayette</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Department: University Residences Alumni & Guest Center</p> <p>Hours/Week: Approximately 8-10 hours required; at least 20 hours to receive housing & meal benefits; can be scheduled full-time (up to 40 hours) if desired; must be available May - August</p> <p>Compensation: $10.00/hour</p> <p>The primary role of the Summer UR Conductor Tour Guide position is to conduct tours and educate guests on University Residences housing and dining locations. The goal of this position is to give students valuable, real-world experience in an office setting and a social environment. The Summer UR Conductor Tour Guide position should work at least 8-10 hours per week. To receive housing and meal benefits, at least 20 hours per week is required. These hours may be worked in any combination, at the discretion of the direct supervisor. Students in the Summer UR Conductor Tour Guide position must be outgoing and friendly with a genuine love for Purdue University Residences. They must be able to physically and visually explore campus with guests while appropriately responding to different environments, reading body language and relaying large amounts of information accurately. When not giving tours, Summer UR Conductor Tour Guides will serve as hosts in the University Residences Alumni & Guest Center and attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in University Residences and/or Dining & Culinary processes, offerings, opportunities and culture.
