Continuation is dependent upon additional grant funding.</p> <p>What You'll Be Doing:</p> <ul> <li>Engage in individual and team-based semiconductor and electronic manufacturing research projects </li><li>Design and develop equipment and processes, as they relate to device fabrication </li><li>Plan and execute experiments involving materials, perform equipment/device characterization and analysis, and prepare detailed technical reports </li><li>Interact with academic, governmental, and industrial partners </li></ul> <p>About Us:</p> <p>The Manufacturing and Materials Research Laboratories (MMRL) at Purdue University are a cutting-edge facility dedicated to advancing research and experimentation in the fields of manufacturing and materials science. Established as part of Purdue's eXcellence in Manufacturing and Operations (XMO) initiative, MMRL aims to foster collaboration between academia and industry, enhance technology commercialization, and attract top talent in the manufacturing sector.</p> <p>Overall, MMRL plays a crucial role in Purdue's commitment to enhancing U.S. manufacturing capabilities through cutting-edge research, education, and collaboration with industry stakeholders.</p> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <p>Education and Experience</p> <p>Qualified candidates will need:</p> <ul> <li>BS or M.S. in electronics materials and manufacturing and characterization </li><li>Two (2) years of experience in electronics fabrication research and manufacturing systems </li><li>A background in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, material characterization, and deposition techniques </li><li>Hands-on experience with robotic and fabrication equipment, testing, and operation </li><li>Knowledge of semiconductor devices and engineering </li><li>Proficiency in analytical techniques such as optical microscopy SEM, Raman spectroscopy, XPS, XRD, and other related methods </li></ul> <p>Skills needed:</p> <ul> <li>Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and project-planning abilities </li><li>Practical communication skills, including technical writing and presentations </li><li>Strong attention to safety, urgency, and professionalism in a research setting </li></ul> <p>Nice to have</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on fabrication experience </li><li>Some exposure and experience with cleanroom operations </li><li>Masters with 2+ years of research experience in a relevant field and direct experience in electronics materials, manufacturing, design, and fabrication </li><li>Interest in space science </li></ul> <p>Who We Are:</p> <p>Purdue is a community built on collaboration, with global perspectives, Boilermaker pride and endless opportunity to live, learn and grow.
