<p>ESSENTIAL JOB TASKS</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Understand supplier lead times and production processes. </li><li>Communicate to suppliers Rohrer Corporations business goals to maintain a strong relationship. </li><li>Document and analyze all product related activities in various databases. </li><li>Responsible for Corporate annual contracts such as copiers, lawn maintenance, air compressors, ink towels, laser gases etc. </li><li>Work with maintenance managers on service and contracts. </li><li>Back up other Buyer(s) on Material Requirements Planning (MRP) reports as needed. </li><li>Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services. </li><li>Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history. </li><li>Confer with staff and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action. </li><li>Maintain and review computerized or manual records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories. </li><li>Approve invoices as needed following accounting rules. </li><li>Support Lean programs and ISO. </li><li>Responsible for safety supplies in Wadsworth, including a visual inventory in the supply vending machine. </li><li>Assist R&D in finding new products, ordering and Supplier Data Sheet data. </li><li>Support ink buying the set up new part #'s as needed (each Rohrer plant has main ink PO entry and ink part # entry). </li><li>Maintain Visual software for costing and closed PO's for all location. </li><li>Overall Inventory Management. </li><li>Run various reports as needed. </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma </li><li>Two years of purchasing experience (print or thermoforming preferred) </li><li>Advanced computer skills and interaction with vendor websites, emails, entering information into and querying databases, and analyzing with spreadsheets. </li><li>Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred. </li><li>Strong planning and organizational skills to effectively manage product ordering in a cost effective but timely manner. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written skills in order to provide effective communications with customers, fellow workers, vendors and company management. </li><li>Capable of taking initiative in making decision(s). </li><li>Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. </li><li>Using the logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusion and approaches to problems. </li><li>Consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. </li><li>Strong judgment skills to determine the right amount of stock for prioritizing jobs. </li><li>Strong attention to detail and efficiency of operation; Ability to follow up and track details. </li><li>Ability to identify and resolves problems in a timely manner. </li><li>Ability to deal calmly and effectively with stressful situations. </li></ul>
