<p>NATURE AND SCOPE OF WORK</p> <p>Minuteman High School is looking to hire a Long-Term Sub Technical Assistant for our Health, Hospitality and Human Services Pathway (Early Education and Teaching, Cosmetology, Culinary Arts and Health Assisting). Minuteman?technical assistants are responsible for assisting teachers with classroom instruction and in shop settings. Individuals applying for this position will work collaboratively with instructors across the Health, Hospitality and Human Services Pathway. They will participate effectively in school-wide department goals, and academic-vocational integration activities. Candidates will ensure professional growth on a yearly basis, with a focus on continuous improvement in student learning. The anticipated start date is immediately-April 18, 2025.</p> <p>Major Responsibilities:</p> <p>Present topics relevant to the program under the guidance of lead teacher.</p> <p>Locate and compile information to prepare exhibits, demonstrations, equipment and other materials used in the CTE programs.</p> <p>Demonstrate methods, procedures, techniques and uses of materials, tools, equipment required in the CTE programs under the direction of the lead teacher.</p> <p>Conduct educational visits related to instructional activities in the CTE program.</p> <p>Tutor individual students or groups in subjects that require basic to advanced knowledge of CTE program.</p> <p>Review students' work for correct procedures to develop skills and techniques related to CTE programs.</p> <p>Assist in student transportation as needed.</p> <p>At various times assist other teachers or fill-in for teachers when needed.</p> <p>Perform other duties as assigned and approved by CTE Director or Administrators.</p> <p>Minuteman High School is committed to maintaining a work and learning environment free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, disability, pregnancy, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital/civil union status, ancestry, place of birth, age, citizenship status, veteran status, political affiliation, genetic information or disability, as defined and required by state and federal laws. Additionally, we prohibit retaliation against individuals who oppose such discrimination and harassment or who participate in an equal opportunity investigation.QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION</p> <p>Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.</p> <p>Ability to work as part of a team and to foster a positive working relationship with students and staff.</p> <p>Preferred experience in and knowledge of the Health, Culinary, Cosmetology or Early Education industries.</p> <p>Proficient with the use of technology, i.e., Microsoft Office Suite.</p> <p>Ability to create a healthy environment for students to learn.</p> <p>Have experience working with students on IEP's.</p> <p>Teaching experience preferred.</p> <p>Flexibility and open to new ideas and processes.</p> <p>Ability to evaluate students within a variety of shop settings.</p> <p>Conditions of employment</p> <p>Equipment Used: Copier, fax machine, smart board, phone, computer.</p> <p>Physical Demands: Most of the time is spent on your feet working with and observing students while they work in their program areas.
