Performs basic clerical work and tasks, and administrative duties related to patient visits, including scheduling, check-in, and check-out duties.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>A high school diploma or equivalent is required. </li><li>Office experience of 2-3 years is required. </li><li>Proficiency with all Office Suite, Knowledge of office operations and standards, and understanding of office procedures including filing, copying, scanning, printing, and faxing. </li><li>Ability to use the phone system and manage more non-routine phone calls and solve routine issues as appropriate. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, as appropriate for the needs of the audience, and to convey information effectively. </li><li>Ability to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents, to correspond and communicate with others clearly and effectively (including composing/editing e-mail, memos, and letters), and to take complete and accurate messages. </li><li>Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others. </li><li>Must be well-organized and have good time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively, follow established protocols, and work within systems. </li></ul> <p>Additional Job Details (if applicable)</p> <p>The Practice Assistant II reports directly to the Practice Manager and works in conjunction with the MDs, physicists, nurses, practitioners, radiation therapists, and other designated program personnel.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Schedules patient consults, simulations, new starts, and follow-up appointments for Radiation Oncology. Informs patients and staff of appointments and changes related to therapy and appointment changes by patients. Critical point person for communication with physics, therapists, RN's, and other care providers for effective and timely scheduling. </li><li>Coordinate treatment scheduling with the ARIA Task Force (ATF) Scheduling team to ensure Sim Request Forms and Intents are completed when needed. </li><li>Assists and monitors insurance/financial clearance for all patients. </li><li>Manages systems to receive and distribute timely patient referrals to and from the Radiation Oncology program. </li><li>Participates in the development of Radiation Oncology documentation/QA activities. </li><li>Obtains and prepares records/films in preparation for appointments and tracks the location of materials. Coordinates and facilitates patient rounds with the team. </li><li>Coordinates information flow among Radiation Oncology and multidisciplinary teams (physics, nursing, MD, Medical Oncology, etc.) </li><li>Builds and maintains effective working relationships with administrative staff, nurses, and MDs from other departments, as well as with physicians, therapists, nursing, MDs, and administrative staff from the Radiation Oncology department. </li><li>Provides coverage for other programs as directed bythe Clinical Admin Manager and when necessary. </li></ul> <p>Remote Type</p> <p>Hybrid</p> <p>Work Location</p> <p>45 Francis Street</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours</p> <p>40</p> <p>Employee Type</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Work Shift</p> <p>Day (United States of America)</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
