Under the direction of the Interim Director of MGB Stroke, the stroke coordinator assists with program direction and coordination of the Primary Stroke Certification, including quality assurance and maintaining Joint Commission certification, Department of Public Health Designation and Get with the Guidelines Quality Award Status.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Functions as a clinical nursing expert in the delivery of stroke care.</p> </li><li> <p>Utilizes medical records to abstract stroke data both manually and electronically for quality review and certification programs</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with identifying and analyzing system barriers to provision of stroke patient care, develops a plan to resolve such barriers in collaboration with stroke leadership.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide follow-up phone calls to patients to obtain modified ranking scale outcomes.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides feedback and outreach to EMS as required by the Joint Commission</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for hospital-wide stroke education program for nurses, rehabilitation professionals, care coordination, social work and environmental services as required by the Joint Commission.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with preparation for PSC Joint Commission visits</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains updated knowledge of all regulatory standards</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in outreach and community education programs.</p> </li><li> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required</p> </li><li> <p>5 or more years experience as a neuroscience RN preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Certification as a Stroke Care Registered Nurse (SCRN) preferred</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience with quality improvement in a hospital setting preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Clinical chart review and abstraction experience required</p> </li><li> <p>Computer literacy including Power Point and Excel</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously</p> </li><li> <p>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Job Details (if applicable)</p> <p>Remote Type</p> <p>Hybrid</p> <p>Work Location</p> <p>2014 Washington Street</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours</p> <p>40</p> <p>Employee Type</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Work Shift</p> <p>Day (United States of America)</p> <p>EEO Statement:</p> <p>Mass General Brigham Incorporated is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
