It's rewarding to work, with an inspiring team, where every contribution matters.</p> <p>Caterpillar's Remanufacturing Division is looking for a Demand & Orders Analyst for our Franklin, Indiana facility. This position will support customer inquiries for order lead time and order configuration change. Responsible for new orders and order change, make sure requests can be successfully received by order system. Responsible for ensuring the right amount of product is available at the right time to meet customer demand.</p> <p>Responsibilities to include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Collect and analyze data related to the supply chain to identify trends, patterns and/or areas for improvement. This includes inventory levels, production data, transportation costs, and delivery times. </li><li>Forecast demand and plan inventory levels accordingly. </li><li>Identify potential supply and demand issues and devise ways to minimize stock shortages. </li><li>Work closely with commercial and finance teams to understand demand forecast drivers. </li><li>Interact with sales, engineering and facilities operations on production schedules and expected deliverables. </li><li>Monitor the accuracy of inventory levels at warehouses to ensure supply meets demand. </li><li>Identify and report on inventory trends and slow-moving items. </li><li>Provide input to the Supply Planning organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs. </li><li>Track and analyze supplier performance metrics. </li><li>Collaborate and negotiate with suppliers to deliver materials per requirements. </li></ul> <p>Degree Requirement:</p> <ul> <li>Degree or equivalent experience desired </li></ul> <p>Highly desired</p> <ul> <li>ASCM CSCP, CPIM or similar certification </li><li>Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, and familiarity with demand planning software and tools such as QAD/Mfg Pro. </li><li>Background in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Procurement or similar discipline </li></ul> <p>Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.</p> <p>Level Working Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Follows proper data gathering and analysis processes and policies. </li><li>Reports problems that arise in the data collection process. </li><li>Participates in gathering and analyzing an organization's data based on requirements. </li><li>Documents data from various sources and in various formats. </li><li>Utilizes basic data collection and evaluation tools and techniques. </li></ul> <p>Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.</p> <p>Level Working Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Contributes to short-term operational plans. </li><li>Anticipates and adapts to plan changes. </li><li>Monitors progress of work against plan as required to meet objectives. </li><li>Reports variances and makes agreed-upon corrections. </li><li>Under guidance, develops tactical plan for own direct responsibility. </li></ul> <p>Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to effectively sense, predict, plan for and manage the demand for products and services.</p> <p>Level Working Knowledge:</p> <ul> <li>Assists in the collection and preparation of required demand information. </li><li>Participates in the preparation of short-term demand management for a specific product or site. </li><li>Produces basic demand management reports for senior staff to reconcile the demand balances. </li><li>Summarizes and reports problems such as issues and concerns currently existing in demand management operations. </li><li>Uses tools, with guidance, to predict and plan demand, assess seasonal factors and trends and effectively influence demand. </li></ul> <p>Forecasting: Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices;
